ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON CHILD SAFETY
ELEMENTARYSY 2020-2021
SCHOOL

Child protection is the safeguarding of children from violence, exploitation, abuse, and
neglect. Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child provides for the protection of
children in and out of the home.
Educo in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Camarines Sur with
their partner schools in Nabua East District held a one day seminar workshop about Revisiting School
Improvement Plan/ Annual Implementation Plan in the context of Covid-19 Pandemic under the Project
SAFE (Strengthening Accountability for Girls and Boys in EDUCO partner schools and communities).
This project was supposed to be a 3-year project to be implemented from 2018 to 2020 but due to
Covid19 Pandemic they were unable to fully operate from March to July. That was the reason why, the
Funder Child Fund Korea and Educo had agreed for a 5-month extension.
Bustrac Elementary School as one of the recipients of Educo had conducted one day LAC
Session with free lunch to help and facilitate the said activity. According to the facilitator, Project SAFE
aimed to contribute in achieving this goal: Girls and boys are safe and protected in schools and
communities. There were 3 outcomes of the Project SAFE. Girls and boys in schools and communities
should have an active voice and able to protect themselves before, during and after a disaster was the
focus of the first. With this, our school prepared a contingency plan. The focus of the second one was
schools with functional school DRRM Committees and Enhanced School Improvement Plans (SIPs).
And the third one was Proactive LGUs with DRRMPs, budget and interventions for safer schools and
communities. This outcome focuses on the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Committee.
