Learning Segment Overview
Lesson
Day 1: Introduction with a bellringer on VTS. Introduce students to principles and
elements of photography. Students take notes along with interacting with example
images in presentation. Ask students to create a presentation with 2 of each element and
principles of photography.
Day 2:Introduce a bellringer Jam board where students will create a page dedicated to
change. Begin with powerpoint on a photo collage project. Make sure students interact
with the images provided. Assign students an official collage project and pass out hard
copies of requirements for the project. Allow students to brainstorm ideas using “Where
to get started page”
Day 3: Bellringer : Have students write 3 things they like about their work, 3 things they
want to change or add, and three ways to make those changes happen. Work day
Day 4: Students will write a statement telling the teacher how they used each element
and principle in their collage. Turn in collage.

guys see a theme in all the jamboards” and “can anyone tell me aloud what change
means to them?”
4. Teacher will open powerpoint discussing what collage is
5. Teacher will ask students what they know about a few images in the beginning to get a
pre-assessment of their collage knowledge
6. Teacher will discuss what a collage is and the history of collage.
7. Teacher will show examples of collages throughout art history

9. Teacher will pass out project sheet
10. Teacher will discuss how to brainstorm ideas
11. Students will brainstorm in their journals
