PAUL NICKLEN

ENVIRONMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHER

He was born on July 21 of 1968 in Tisdale,

Saskatchewan. That's too far!

In the seventies, Paul's family moved to the tiny

Inuit town of Baffin Island in Canada's Artic

Circle. It's very cold there!

At the age of twenty he began to studying

marine biology at the University of Victoria.

Around that time he became a wildlife

photographer.

He won the World Press Photo First Prize in 2007,

in the category nature (NAS1-EL)

He is a great photographer
He won the World Press Photo Third Prize in 2008,

in the category nature (NAS3-CL)

He won the World Press Photo First Prize in 2004,

in the category nature (NAS1-IL)

He won the Honorary Doctor if Science from

University of Victoria.

He inducted into the international photography

hall of fame in 2019.

He and his partner Cristina Mittermeier,

founded SeaLegacy to help the oceans around

the world.

He is the photographer assigned for national

geographic to portray marine life

ANSWERS
1. I chose that subcategory because I like the

wildlife of animals in the sea, I love marine life,

and I love photos taken underwater.

2. That subcategory and especially Paul Nicklen

has been very important since with his photos

he has created environmental movements in

the care of marine life and the protection of

the environment.

3. In this first task, I learned how to make an

infographic and I learned a lot from a

photographer that I admire and follow on

Instagram.
