An elderly person could access the Elderly Care Ministry website by searching google, or using
the simple url that someone has pitched to them. It is easy to access. The font is large and easy to
read and understand. The services that are offered are online church, worship, and preaching
specifically geared toward the elderly. They are offered online for those who may be bed bound
or living in an assisted care facility. This allows elderly people ,who may otherwise not have
access to services like this, to connect with a community of like minded people.

Website title (at the top of the home page): National Council on Aging
On a scale of 1–10, with 10 being highest, rank the following:
___9_1. Is the design of the site pleasant to view? The design is overall present. A point is
removed for there being very busy on the front page.
___9__2. Is the site designed so that it is efficient for you to navigate? Again, there are a lot of
categories, but it is overall pretty easy to navigate.
___8__3. Is the site designed so that an elderly person could navigate it? I would say that the site

one author named, but the organization as a whole gets credit
___9__8. Does it seem as though the authors are credible? Why or why not? It does seem that
whoever the authors are, are credible because they are a national organization.

are not links to other websites, but there are links that will take you to different part of the
national council on aging website. Those links work well.

One major area of information on this website that could be useful to an elderly
person is the article posted about living with vision loss. This article is presented in an
informative way with large font and is easy to understand. It presents key takeaways at
the beginning that I have listed next.
“Low vision is very prevalent in people over 60.
People with visual impairments can learn adaptive strategies to cope and live
independently.
Vision loss impacts the entire family, not just the person experiencing the eye condition.”
An elderly person could use this information to educate themselves on how to live more
independently if vision loss happens to them. There are many articles on the NCOA
website like this one that could be helpful.
