CONSERVATION
Compliance Options:
Option 1:
1. Install GreenPro Eco labelled water efficient plumbing fixtures (or) plumbing fixtures having flow rates 5 % lower than
the baseline flow rates specified by Uniform Plumbing Code.
2. Incase plumbing fixtures which are not Eco Labelled are proposed for use, provide details of flow rates along with test
certificates for the manufacturer.
Option 1:
• Install GreenPro Eco Labelled water efficient plumbing fixtures having flow rates 5 % lower than the baseline flow rates
• For Core & Shell residential structures, the developer shall show compliance for mandatory requirement by mentioning
about the installation of water efficient plumbing fixtures in the sale deed.
• Additionally, project shall conform to minimum water baselines mentioned under option 1 in all common area plumbing fixtures to
meet this mandatory requirement
WC Mandatory Requirement 2 Rainwater Harvesting
Intent: Enhance ground water table and reduce municipal water demand by harvesting rain water
Compliance Options:
❖ Case A: Rainwater Harvesting, Roof & Non-roof
Design rainwater harvesting system to capture at least ‘one-day rainfall*’ runoff volume from roof and non-roof
areas.
❖ Case B: High Ground Water Table
The project need not implement the rain water harvesting system:
(i) If the Central/ State Ground Water Board does not recommend artificial rain water recharge
(ii) If the groundwater table is less than 8 meters
Compliance:
Case 1:
Rainwater harvesting for roof and non-roof areas:
• The average monthly rainfall for Mumbai is 600mm.
RWHT
Thus, 10.5% of the average monthly rainfall = daily rainfall =
27mm rainfall needs to be harvested.
• Area of roof = 1063.42 sq.m
• The capacity of tank for harvesting water from the roof
area =
55 cub.m = 55000 Lof water.
Case 2:
High ground water table :
• The project does not use recharge pits as the site has a
high
ground water table, surveyed through geotechnical
instruments
WC Credit 1 Water Efficient Plumbing Fixtures
Intent: Minimise dependence on municipal and bore water, by reducing water consumption
Compliance Options:
1. Install GreenPro Eco labelled water efficient plumbing fixtures (or) plumbing fixtures having flow rates at least
10 % lower than the baseline flow rates
specified by Uniform Plumbing Code.
2. Incase plumbing fixtures which are not Eco Labelled are proposed for use, provide details of flow rates along
with test certificates for the manufacturer.
Compliance:
Option 1:
• Installing GreenPro Eco labelled water efficient plumbing fixtures having flow rates 37.32 % lower than the baseline flow
rates specified by Uniform Plumbing Code.
• The products are from ROCA griha certified product range.
• The project is not eligible for exemplary performance since the fixtures save less that 40% of the baseline flow.
• Maximum points available – 6
Points gained – 6
WC Credit 2 Landscape Design
Intent: Design landscape to ensure minimum water consumption
Compliance Options:
Case 1 (1 point):
Limit use of turf on the site so as to conserve water. Ensure that landscaped area is planted with turf less than or
equal to 15 % of the total landscaped area.
Case 2 (1 point):
Ensure that landscaped area is planted with native/ adaptive species for at least 40% of total landscaped area.
Case 3 (1 point):
Source fruit/ vegetable bearing plants for at least 5% of the total landscaped area.
Compliance:
• Case 2 – More than 40% of the landscaped area is planted with native and adaptive plants and trees.
The native trees used are Yellow silk cotton, Taaman, Royal Palm along with adaptive trees and shrubs like Drumstick Tree,
Points gained – 3
• The project is not eligible for exemplary performance since the planted trees are less than 85% of the total landscape
area.
WC Credit 3 Management of Irrigation system
Intent: Reduce water demand for irrigation through water efficient management systems and techniques.
Compliance Options:
Install efficient irrigation systems to minimize the water requirements for the landscape / vegetation in the
campus.
A. Project shall provide the following: (1 point for all 2 measures)
• At Least 50% of landscape planting beds must have Drip Irrigation system to reduce evaporation
• Sprinkler system for Turf / lawn areas
N
DRIP IRRIGATIO SPRINKLER IRRIGATION
DRIP IRRIGATION
DRIP IRRIGATION
Compliance:
Case A –
• More than 50% of the planters and trees have drip irrigation installed to reduce evaporation.
• Sprinkler system is installed in the grass/ garden area for easy monitoring and timely watering.
Case B –
• The tree areas and shrub areas are segregated as per water needs to provide adequate water.
• A central shut off valve is installed in the building for ease of sprinkler control and monitoring.
• Pressure regulating devices are installed to keep the pressure intact in the system.
Points gained – 2
WC Credit 4 Recycle & Reuse of waste water
Intent: Reduce consumption of potable water and waste water generation to minimise the burden on municipal
water supply
Compliance Options:
Wastewater Treatment: (2 points)
❖ Provide an on-site treatment system to treat at least 50% of wastewater generated in the building/ campus, to
the quality standards suitable for reuse as prescribed by Central (or) State Pollution Control Board, as applicable.
AND
❖ Provide separate plumbing lines for reuse of treated waste water available from
in situ waste water treatment plant for flushing requirements.
Wastewater treatment:
• Providing a sewage treatment plant on site for 95% of the total waste water generated, suitable for reuse prescribed by
the Central pollution control board.
• Providing a separate plumbing line for the reuse of water coming out of the sewage treatment plant for flushing and
landscape requirements.
Wastewater reuse
• Reusing 75% of the outlet water from the sewage treatment plant for flushing, car washing and landscaping . The quality
of water should be as per Central pollution control board.
Points gained – 4
WC Credit 5 Water Quality
Intent: Improve the quality of water to make it more acceptable for dwelling unit consumption, thereby reducing
the impact on environment
Compliance Options:
Install a water treatment plant (WTP) to remove sediments, bacteria and other impurities. The system shall be
designed to meet 95 % of the total dwelling units (or) total occupancy.
The potable water quality should meet the criteria set by CPCB for water quality.
Compliance:
• This credit is not applicable as the project does not install a
water treatment plant.
• Maximum points available – 1
Points gained – 0
WC Credit 6 Enhanced Rainwater Harvesting
Intent: Enhance ground water table and reduce municipal water demand through effective rainwater management.
Compliance Options:
Compliance Options:
Quantify water used in each of the dwelling units and common area applications.
(1) Install Water meters at dwelling unit level (Kitchen, Toilets) : (max 2 points)
• 75 % of the Dwelling unit consumption: 1 point
• 100% of the Dwelling unit consumption: 2 points
