Let's start with the definition of household
services. Household services, housekeeping, or house
cleaning is the systematic process of making a home neat
and clean. The word house cleaning refers to the upkeep
and maintenance of cleanliness and orderliness in the
house or a lodging establishment such as a hotel, inn,
apartel, condominium, resort, dormitory, or even a
hospital. A housekeeper is responsible for administering
housekeeping maintenance and for ensuring that
everything is in order. He/she sees to it that occupants are
comfortable, safe, and protected inside and outside.
Some housekeeping is house cleaning, and some
housekeeping is home chores. Home chores are
homework that needs to be done at regular intervals.
Housekeeping includes budgeting and controlling
expenditures, preparing meals, buying food, paying utility
bills, and cleaning the house. Outdoor housekeeping
chores include removing leaves from rain gutters,
washing windows, sweeping doormats, cleaning the pool,
putting away lawn furniture, and taking out the trash.

Household Services aims to impart knowledge to
the students on making a house a home to live in. Using
and Maintaining Cleaning Tools and Equipment includes
topics on the appropriate use of cleaning tools,
equipment, supplies, and materials; and maintenance of
this cleaning equipment. Practicing Occupational and
Safety Procedures details the identification of hazards
and risks related to household services.
Household Services is one of the very in-
demand and outgrowing skills within the country's
competitive field, especially in hotel management. It
teaches students the different skills in cleaning,
maintaining household operations. In this course,
students are in the process of preparing themselves for
immediate job placement in hotels. Household Services
will continue to grow as long as more hotels are being
opened that specializes in Household services. A person
who can do the job of a housekeeper can also apply it in
their own houses and also it may have the
chance/opportunity to find employment that will provide a
higher salary.
Lastly, the Career Opportunities.
Household Services programs and degrees tend
toward Hotel Management; provide good opportunities as
well as pathways to a more advanced course or degrees
that lead to upgrade Hotel Manager positions. An
individual may pursue a career as a Hotel Manager that
will give customer satisfaction. Job opportunities are
available in various cruise ships, hotels, and other
institutions such as hospitals and universities.

What is an entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur is an individual who creates a
new business, bearing most of the risks and enjoying
most of the rewards. The entrepreneur is commonly seen
as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services,
and business/or procedures. Entrepreneurs play a key
role in any economy, using the skills and initiative
necessary to anticipate needs and bring new ideas to
market. Entrepreneurs who prove to be successful in
taking on the risks of a startup are rewarded with profits,
fame, and continued growth opportunities. Those who fail,
suffer losses and become less prevalent in the markets.
How Entrepreneurs work?
Entrepreneurship is one of the resources of the
economists categorize as integral to production,
land/natural resources, labor, and capital. An
entrepreneur combines the first three of these to
manufacture goods or provide services. They typically
create a business plan, hire labor, acquire resources and
financing, and provide leadership and management for
the business.
Entrepreneurs commonly face many obstacles when
building their companies. The three that many of them,
cite as the most challenging are as follows:
• Overcoming bureaucracy
• Hiring talent
• Obtaining financing
What are Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies?
The Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies or
The EMPRETEC Model, in which the researchers of
these competencies are Mc Clelland & Mc Ber. Were the
United States Agencies for International Development
(USAID) funded their research. They identified 14
personal entrepreneurial competencies (PEC's). But they
merged some of these competencies, producing only ten
competencies, and they called it EMPRETEC Model.
These competencies are grouped into three main
clusters, which are as follows:
• ACHIEVEMENT CLUSTER
• PLANNING CLUSTERS
• POWER CLUSTER
• ACHIEVEMENT CLUSTER
1. OPPORTUNITY-SEEKING &
INITIATIVE
- Does things before asked or forced to by events.
- Acts to extend the business into new areas,
products, or services.
- Seizes unusual opportunities to start a new
business, obtain financing, equipment, land,
workplace, and assistance.
2. RISK-TAKING
- Deliberately calculate risks and evaluate
alternatives.
- Takes action to reduce risks and evaluate
alternatives.
- Places himself in situations involving challenges
or moderate risks.
3. DEMAND FOR EFFICIENCY AND
QUALITY
- Finds ways to do things better, faster, or
cheaper.
- Acts to do things that meet or exceed standards
of excellence.
- Develops or uses procedures to ensure that the
work is completed on time or that work meets
agreed-upon quality standards.
4. COMMITMENT TO THE WORK CONTRACT
- Makes personal sacrifices or expends
extraordinary efforts to complete a job.
- Pitches in with workers or in their place to get
the job done.
- Strives to keep customers satisfied and places
