English Level 1 Beginner: Trainees who successfully complete this level should be able

to demonstrate a basic linguistic competence (lexical, grammatical and phonological) to


express basic information through level A1 of the Common European Framework
Reference (CEFR) within the KSA and in a global arena. Students at this level will take
5 English and 1 IT courses. The curricular basis for this level is New Headway Beginner
with English for Drilling Purposes 1 as supplementary material. Students will also be
introduced to basic vocabulary for job skill development and safety best practices.

English Level 2 Elementary: This course briefly revises level A1, and then takes the
trainee through level A2 which corresponds to the Cambridge Key English Test (KET)
examination. The target preparation level for this course will be preparation sufficient to
sit the KET exam. The learner will be able to demonstrate a linguistic range (lexical,
grammatical, and phonological) at Level (A2) of the Common European Framework
Reference for Languages to be able to communicate in simple, everyday situations within
the KSA and in a global arena. Students at this level will take 4 English, 1 Math, and 1
IT courses. The curricular basis for this level is New Headway Elementary with English
for Drilling Purposes 2 as supplementary material. By the end of this level, students
should be able to sit for the IELTS and successfully achieve a score of 4 or higher.

English Level 3 Pre-Intermediate: this course briefly revises level A2 before covering
approximately half of the competences required for level B1. Trainees who successfully
complete this level should be able to demonstrate a linguistic range (lexical, grammatical,
and phonological) at level B2 of the Common European Framework Reference (CEFR)
to be able to communicate in common, everyday situations within the KSA and in a
global arena. Students at this level will take 1 Math, 1 Science, and 4 English courses.
The curricular basis for this level is New Headway Pre-Intermediate with English for
Drilling Purposes 3 as supplementary material. By the end of this level, students should
be able to sit for the IELTS and successfully achieve a score minimum of 4 ranging to
4.5.

English Level 4 Intermediate: this course covers the second half of the competences
required for level B1. Trainees who have successfully this level are typically ready to sit
the Cambridge Preliminary English Test (PET) examination and demonstrate a linguistic
range (lexical, grammatical, and phonological) at the CEFR level B1 stage of the
Common European Framework Reference to be able to communicate in shared, everyday
situations within the KSA and in a global arena. Students at this level will take 1 Math, 1
Science , and 4 English courses. The curricular basis for this level is Oil and Gas 1 with
English for Drilling Purposes 4 as supplementary material. By the end of this level,
students should be able to sit for the IELTS and successfully achieve a score minimum
between 4.5 and 5.

English Level 5 Upper-intermediate: this course provides level 5 students with basic
knowledge of oil industry, drilling equipment, basic workplace operations, safety
measures and making comparisons related to oil industry and drilling. It also enables
students to master office communications. They would be prepared to join the Job Skills
program. Students in this level will take 1 Science, 1 Math, and 4 English / Job Skills
Courses. The curricular basis for this level is Oil and Gas 2 with English for Drilling
Purposes 5 as supplementary material, in addition curriculum prepared by the job skills
professionals will be utilized in intensive practical application and critical thinking
programming (Problem Solving/ CLIL) for approximately half of the course. By the end
of this level, students should be able to sit for the IELTS and successfully achieve a score
minimum of 5.5.
