The total environment framework refers to the relationship between nature and culture, and it
serves as the basis for all components required by both living and nonliving creatures on Earth. This acts
as a tool for achieving, building, and optimizing biological and non-biological elements of existence. The
total environment framework was divided into nature and culture, and these two components were
interconnected. Nature and culture intersect in a variety of ways, ranging from values, beliefs, and
conventions to behaviors, livelihoods, knowledge, and languages. As a corollary, there is reciprocal
feedback across cultural systems and the environment, with modifications in one frequently causing
changes in the other. They are basic areas in which nature has a significant effect on culture across time.
Having a variety individual element, nature, and culture governed to develop with each other and for the
being to learn in adapting biodiversity. Their elements are related to each other because nature gave the
overview of the evolution of cultural processes, activities, and belief systems, all of which led to the
evolution of diversification. Together with the four key bridges namely beliefs and worldviews;
livelihoods and practices; knowledge bases; and norms and institutions – demonstrated that nature and
culture are inseparable and has interference toward the factors of sustainable development of the world.

The relationship of nature and culture has a widely range of positive and negative impact to the
arts and crafts, as this creative aspect of the human life has a great influence to the beliefs and traditions
of our society. Its main positive impact to the arts and crafts is that it gives contribution of diverse
knowledge and skills wherein people can communicate and express important messages where others will
be inspired. As our generation enters the modernization lots of new cultural things that also relates to our
nature can also be utilized by the young generation, particularly in conserving the original art of our
nation. This gives freedom, confidence, and connection to the community well-being. However, the
negative impact to the arts and crafts are some people forgot our originality that our ancestors provide. As
our society developed and globalized, we tend to copy one’s culture and forget our own.
