- The most important thing to improve is our manners. It's easy to talk to someone from a 
different culture, but it's hard to control our feelings. Have respect for other cultures bef
ore you engage with them.

- In terms of nature, traits, and personality, I agree that humans tend to gravitate toward 
one another. We all eat, sleep, walk, talk, run, etc. There is also room for our difference, 
such as our habits and customs, to be respected.
As opposed to custom, habit is an individual phenomenon. As a result of the habit gainin
g sanction and influence, a custom develops its own unique social significance. We call t
hem customs because they’re a set of societal norms that have developed over time.

INTROSPECTING

This lesson on local and global communication in multicultural settings helped me realized that
When we improve our ability to communicate, we also improve our ability to accept and
embrace people from other cultures and countries. Also, it made me realize the importance of
cross-cultural business opportunities, job opportunities, the sharing of views and ideas, talent
improvisation, and the understanding of diverse markets in the age of globalization.
Communication on a global scale is also important for establishing and maintaining the concept
of intercultural communication, which refers to the active relationship that develops between
people through language. In addition, it takes into account the situated communication
between individuals or groups of different linguistic and cultural origins.

- We use local variety spoken language when communicating with people within our
country, and we use global variety spoken language when communicating with people
internationally. For example, if we're publishing a book, we'll use universal language so
that anyone in the world can read it.

- Registers are used depending on the situation and the people encountered. It is
essential to use appropriate registers of language in certain communication contexts
because different situations and people call for different registers. It shows the level of
formality and informality of the language used. When appropriate registers are used,
respect, interest, and professionalism can be shown.
- After reading a letter to the editor in a day’s paper, listening to a radio broadcast, and
watching people in conversation at a fast food chain, it is evident that the registers of
language used in each situation differ from one another. The letter to the editor used
the local specialized written register. The letter is done because of a specific reason/ an
issue of concern of an individual. It is formal since it is used in a professional setting
where communication is expected to be respectful, uninterrupted, and restrained.
Slang/ Informal language is not used. On the other hand, the registers used in the radio
broadcast are local everyday oral and local specialized oral. Local specialized oral is one
of the registers used for the radio broadcast since it involves conversations in which the
speakers have specialized knowledge about the topics discussed. Sometimes, local
everyday oral is used in conversations between the broadcasters and in infomercials.
Formal and informal language registers were both present. Lastly, while observing
people in conversation at a fast food chain, local everyday oral is used because the
conversation is between friends and family or people who know each other well.
Informal language is present in the form of slang, figurative language, and jokes.
