Setting: A gymnasium

Normally where schools have sports and matches and laegre gatherings.

Having beds and making it a prison like description with army issue sheets and rows of beds presents
the world as the reader knows it differently and therefore emphases the foreign and dystopian
atmosphere.

Contrast of Old days and the present

Present

Fear-

Expectation- change/ power through their bodies “Something could be exchanged we still had our
bodies”/ Reader expects a rebellion suggested through the subtle rebellion already from sharing
names and (read yearning)

Yearning/Rebellion- lip reading, touching each other’s hands, (reminiscing about the past.)

Power/ Control- Angels, Guards, electric cattle prods slung and gong out for walks walking two by
two, army cots set in rows.
