1. What do you think are the factors that drive Filipinos to become entrepreneurial?
There are various factors that drive us, Filipinos, to become entrepreneurial and I
personally think that these three (3) are surely one of those many factors. First, I think that
money is one of the main reasons why Filipinos want to become an entrepreneur. We all
know that most of the successful entrepreneurs live comfortably without worrying about
money. In reality, being an employee can only provide the needs of the family but cannot
always give their wants. So, some try to take a risk and enter the business world because
of the potential to make more money than being an employee. Secondly, there are people
that wants to be in control of their specific field. These people do not want to be controlled
over by their employer or their bosses and wants to be the boss of their own work to make
money at the same time. If you are the boss, you are the leader and you make all the
decisions for your organization. And lastly, some people want to become an entrepreneur
because of their passion and dream. There are people that have always dreamed to be an
entrepreneur since the beginning and is willing to do everything for that dream to come
true.
2. Name three entrepreneurial trends that you observe in your environment. Why do you think
these entrepreneurs venture into these businesses?
As we continue our lives during a pandemic, many things have changed that affects
our everyday lives and those changes are immediately answered by these three businesses.
One of them is the online reselling which I personally tried for the past months but
eventually stopped because I want to focus on studying. Online selling or reselling is on
the top because everything is now contactless including shopping. Even before this
pandemic started, online selling was already known but it flourishes even more when
COVID entered the world. And after you have shopped online, how do you think it would
be sent to your house? That’s where the delivery service comes in. Various delivery
services have come out since this crisis happened as thousands, even millions, of people
need to delivery their things without going out and contacting other people. And of course,
last but not the least business is the cleaning services. Nowadays, almost everyone cleans
their things or even their whole house more frequently than before because they fear the
Coronavirus. In conclusion, these businesses are now booming more than before when this
pandemic started, and I believe that these entrepreneurs venture into these businesses
because they knew that it would make lots of money for it would take years for this virus
to be beaten. And even though this pandemic will come to an end, these businesses will
not be bankrupted for their business is a top-tier services needed for our daily lives.
