Materials Needed

• Cream background 2⁄3 yd

• Green sashing strips & corner posts 1⁄4 yd
• Reindeer fabric 10" x 14"
• Red border ⅓ yd Seam allowance is 1/4"
• Binding 1⁄3 yd WOF=width of fabric
• Backing 1 yd
• 1 25th & Pine mini charm pack
• 1 skein embroidery floss: Cosmo #2311 or DMC #898 dark
brown

Cutting Instructions
Cream background fabric:
• Cut 1 rectangle 14 1⁄2" x 10 1⁄8" for appliqué background Actual size template
• Cut (2) 1" x WOF strips. Recut into (24) 1" x 3 3⁄8" rectangles • Cut 1
• Cut (4) 2 1⁄2" x WOF strips. Recut into (60) 2 1⁄2" x 2 1⁄2" • Cut 1 reversed
squares; cut each square in half diagonally for a total of (120) No seam allowance included
triangles for square in a square blocks.
Green sashing fabric:
• Cut (4) 1 1⁄2" x 20 1⁄4" strips
• Cut (4) 2 1⁄2" x 2 1⁄2" corner squares
Border:
• Cut (2) 2 1⁄2" x 25 5⁄8" side borders
• Cut (2) 2 1⁄2" x 20 1⁄4" top & bottom borders
Binding:
• Cut (3) 2 1/4" x WOF strips, pieced together end to end

Construction
Sew the block and sashing rows together as shown. Press
• Choose (30) 2 1⁄2" x 2 1⁄2" mini charm squares. Sew seams toward the sashing.

below. • Sew outer border strips to sides of the quilt top. Press seams
toward the borders.

• Sew corner blocks to each end of the top and bottom strips
and add these to the quilt.
Layer, baste and quilt as desired.
Bind using your favorite method.
• Make 30 square in a square blocks; trim blocks to
3 3⁄8" x 3 3⁄8"

2 AppliquÉ

• Prepare appliqué using your favorite method. Place

reindeer fabric and pattern over light box or bright window
and trace eyes using a fabric pencils or water erasable
marker. Cut reindeer tail & collar from green fabric.

• Center appliqué on background placing finished bottom of

reindeer legs 2 3⁄4" up from bottom raw edge of the block.
Stitch to background.

Embroidery

Reindeer eyes: Outline with a back stitch, fill in with a

satin stitch. Use two strands of embroidery floss, Cosmo
#2311 or DMC #898 dark brown.
