Zeus asked Hephaestus to use his skills to make a woman. The
first one to ever exist.
Zeus called her Pandora.

Pandora received a gift from each of the following gods:

Aphrodite gave to her beauty, grace and desire.

Hermes gave her a cunning, deceitful mind and a crafty tongue.
Athena clothed her and taught her to be skillful with her hands.
Poseidon gave her a pearl necklace that would prevent her from
drowning.
Apollo taught her to play the lyre and to sing.
Zeus gave her a foolish, mischievous and idle nature.
And Hera gave her curiosity.
PRESS PLAY Idle is doing nothing or not filled with
activities or actions. Ex: Being
unemployed and doing nothing all day.
Zeus gave Pandora a Box that was
NEVER to be opened.

She tried very hard to tame her

curiosity but one day she
thought:
“What harm could it do to take a
little peek inside?”
And so, she did it...

And when she did it...
All the bad things in the world
- pain, disease, disaster,
sorrow, jealousy, and hatred
flew of the box.
But there was one last thing in the box that Pandora
didn’t expect...

It was HOPE.

Hope is what keeps people going despite all the bad

things in the world.
