 Review on previous discussion
A. Activity  Activity A : Motivation
(Inquiry-Based Show images of games that can be played on computer network.
Learning)
Engage-Explore

 Ask the students if they were able to play the games.

 Ask students if they had an idea how why you were able to play the game in the network?
 Ask students if they want to learn how to configure a computer network.

B. Developmental Questions
Activities  What do you think is one of the requirements in the network setup?
 Do you have any idea in IP addressing?
 Presentation
 Lesson Proper Definition of terms:

Computer Network
 is a group of computers connected together for the purpose of sharing resources.

Internet Protocol (IP)

 is the method by which data is sent from one computer to another on the network.
 uniquely identifies the computer from all other computers on the network.

Example:

IP Address Table:

• Class A, B and C are being used commercially.

• The network or host portion of the address cannot be all zeros and 255 in decimal.
• The value of any octet cannot be greater than 255 in decimal.

C. Analysis Identify if the following IP address class can communicate or cannot communicate.
a. 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.2 - cannot communicate
b. 2.1.3.5 and 2.2.5.3 - can communicate
c. 128.1.3.5 and 128.1.5.3 - can communicate
d. 126.168.2.1 and 125.167.3.2 - cannot communicate
e. 124.32.3.5 and 124.1.5.3 - can communicate

D. Abstraction Questions:
1. What are the classes of IP Address?
2. What classes of IP Address are used commercially?
3. What is the range of Class A?
4. What is the range of Class B?
5. What is the range of Class C?
6. What is the range of Class D?
7. What is the range of Class E?
8. What class of IP Address is 193.195.223.24?
9. What class of IP Address is 123.34.3.1?
10. What class of IP Address is 150.2.5.1?

E. Application Collaborative Learning:

Divide the class into 5 groups.
 Conceptualize your social campaign.
 Answer the following questions:
◦ What are the things that your group thinks that could be better in your
school or community? List down five things.
◦ Choose one of the five things you have listed that you think is of highest
priority and demands immediate action of change.
◦ Using ICT, how would you help solve the problem?

V. EVALUATION Direction: Identify which of the following IP host addresses are valid for commercial networks.
Why or Why not?
IP Host Address Valid or Invalid? Why or why not
Total= 10 pts 140.200.255.25555.255
192.153.2.0
100.100.100.100
125.44.55.2
225.5.1.2
VI. CLOSURE Computers are connected together for the purpose of sharing resources. They are made
possible through the use of IP addressing so that each computer in the network can be
uniquely identify.
