Patricia Mae Paner

A 19 year old girl, Patricia Mae Paner, loves to watch movies and browse her social network
sites. Her goals are to finish her studies and be a successful business woman someday, to be
able to return all the sacrifices that her parents made for her. Currently, she still doesn't have
any business, but she is planning to start one someday.

Patricia also faces struggles in life. She said that the current problem she is facing is the online
classes. She said that it is more stressful to conduct online classes instead of attending classes
in school physically. The pandemic also took a toll on her because she cannot hang out with her
friends and travel with her family. She admitted that she's having suicidal thoughts sometimes
due to her stress on things and in life. But she cannot hurt herself because she always thinks of
her family and she fears God. She believes that God has set His plans for her. She is also very
thankful for her family and special someone for believing in her and staying beside her during
tough times. She acquires strength from them and she always includes them on her plans and
decisions.

Patricia's education is really important for her to achieve her dreams. But sometimes it is hard
for her to be early to school because she cannot get a jeepney or vehicle to ride. As a student,
she almost goes out every day before the pandemic, but she needs to wait for about 15-30
minutes to get a public vehicle on her way to school. At around 7 o'clock am, the jeepneys that
passed her place had no available seat for her. Because of this, she is always late in school,
and sometimes she misses her first period class. Sometimes she will ride on their private
vehicle that her dad and brother use to work to avoid getting late, but this does not happen often
because her dad and brother need to leave earlier than her class schedules. For her, struggling
to get a jeepney to ride is just a normal thing that happens every day. She endures a 10-30
minutes ride while being squeezed by the other passengers in the jeepney. She hopes that the
local government will put another jeep terminal near Bilogo and its neighboring barangays for
them to easily get a ride to their destination and to give a solution to the poor public
transportation system that their community is facing.

Neecka Althea Dadua

Neecka Althea is an eighteen year old student who likes to paint and do covers using ukulele or
guitar. Her goal in life is to serve people in the future as a doctor without neglecting her moral
principles. As of now, she does not have a job or a business to manage.

According to her, in handling challenges that she's facing right now with this pandemic, what
she does is to observe safety guidelines by proper hand hygiene, social distancing, continuous
disinfecting, and promoting the spread of reliable news due to the outburst of fake news.
Furthermore, the things that she do to somehow uplift her mental health is to do things that keep
her sane like distracting herself from a lot of stress that’s happening all at one and finding things
that somehow can make her happy. Another challenge is the implementation of online learning.
Since we all are in the process of adapting to the new normal, adjusting learning virtually is a
very big challenge for her due to the lack of application of theoretical knowledge. But to keep up
with this, she engages herself with learning materials and avenues like Youtube to be able to
see how a certain procedure is done. When we asked about what drives her to wake up
everyday, she said that now, it is for the online class mainly because she wants to learn so that
she will be able to achieve her goals in life.
She also added that God is the number one source of her strength and what gives her faith is
the fact that all of this will eventually pass and everything will be okay again. Also, her family
increases her motivation to strive harder regardless of the hardships.

During this pandemic, Neecka doesn't usually go out unless it is needed and it has been weeks
since she last used public transportation. She usually waits for around ten minutes before a
jeepney arrives. What she does to cope up with the poor transportation is that she makes
schedules for her agendas in the day. She's waiting for jeepney earlier just like what she's doing
when there is no pandemic yet. The usual problem that she encountered when using public
transportation is before the jeepney arrives at her destination, it is already fully occupied and
because of that, she will be late to school. In the current situation, it usually takes too long
before a jeepney arrives especially in the afternoon. What she suggests with regard to the poor
public transportation is that there should be enough jeepneys in each barangay so that all the
passengers can ride as early as possible.

Allyza Dyann Aclan

Allyza Dyann Aclan is an eighteen year old student who makes herself entertained with
Kdramas since it is pandemic. Her goals in life are to finish her study, have a stable job, help
her parents, build her own house, travel to different places and eventually marry someone she
loves.

One of the challenges that Allyza is facing right now is how to survive with the online class.
She's also having a hard time choosing the program to take when she enters the college
because until now, she's still undecided with it. Whenever she experiences hardships in life, she
thinks of the good things that happened to her and she always reminds herself to have a
positive mindset. God is the one who gives her strength to continue what she's doing in life.

According to Allyza, she always used public transportation before this pandemic and it takes
thirty minutes of waiting before she can ride in a jeepney and as a result, she will be late to
school. She said that she doesn't have any choice but to wait patiently for a ride. The usual
problem that she encountered is the short number of public vehicles that makes it hard for her to
go to her destination in time. She also tells that she experienced walking from school to her
house because there is no jeepney available. She suggested that this problem can be
addressed by limiting the use of transportation if the reason for using it is not that important.

Fatima Hermoso
Fatima is a twenty-six year old Engineer who's fond of playing ukelele. Her goals in life are to
establish a long-term career that she's very passionate about, to be financially stable and to
have a family of her own. As of now, she does not have a business but she has a job at JG
Summit as a Panel Engineer.
According to her, the biggest challenge that she is experiencing right now would be the impacts
we are all facing due to the pandemic and because of that, her everyday routine has been
changed. She handles hardships in life by accepting them and then she tries to adapt and
recover from it. When asked about what drives her to wake up everyday, she answered that
helping her family is her main drive and her work would be the second one. Her family and dog
give her strength to face her problems in life.

As the interview continues, we asked her about her concerns with regard to public
transportation in her place. She stated that before the pandemic hit, she utilized public
transportation almost every single day and she told us her experience when waiting for a public
transportation. According to her, in the morning, when coming to work, it usually takes more
than 15 minutes because most of them are full by the time they get around Bilogo. If she is
leaving around 1000H-1200H (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.), then she usually waits for a minimum of
one (1) hour. Basically, trying to catch a jeep after 0900H (9:00 a.m.) usually involves waiting for
some amount of time. One time, she had an experience of having to wait for three (3) hours.
Fortunately, poor public transportation has not affected her work because she is always trying to
catch transportation as early as possible. One of the problems that she usually encounters
when using public transportation is the unnecessarily big amount of time she spent on waiting
for a jeep with an available seat. It is also difficult for her to catch a ride home past 2130H (9:30
p.m.). Providing a set-up where jeepneys will be available per barangay or some sort is her
suggestion to address the problem of poor public transportation in her place.

Ruth Jamiel Ceniza

Ruth, a 21 years old communication student at LPU Batangas, enjoys writing, photojournalism,
and playing ukulele. She also spends time with her pets everyday. She is an editor of the paper
publication at her university. Currently, she earns money from her online job where writing
stints. She also plans to have a small business in the near future. Her ultimate goal is to get a
job she can enjoy while also showing and enhancing her talents. For now, she plans to finish
her study and get a job abroad.0

She said that her mental health right now is unstable, and a separation anxiety with her friends.
The one that really affected her mental health is the new normal mode of learning, she said that
she finds it hard to adapt and learn in an online setting. Since she is often seen with a cheerful
and strong personality, she can only tell her problems to her friends. She's not that open with
her family, so she can not tell them her hardships. But her good attitude and perspective
towards life helps her to overcome those hardships. Her plans in life, her loved ones and friends
is her motivation to continue what she is doing despite all of the hardships that she encounters.
In addition, Ruth's faith in God always keeps her moving, and she just surrenders her problems
to God and trusts Him that He planned it for her to be tougher.

As the interview continued, we moved on to the main topic of our research paper. We asked her
about her experiences in riding public transportation. Ruth said that before pandemic she goes
out everyday, weekdays is for school and she spends the weekends to hang out with her friends
and her other responsibilities. She said that waiting for a jeepney to pass her place and for her
to ride on will take her a minimum of 10 minutes and maximum of 1 hour, since her place is
located in a more rural area at Bilogo, Batangas. There is an option for her to ride a tricycle but
that would cost her a money that is way above her budget. She doesn't have a problem in
transportation to get to her work because it is online, but the lack of public transportation in their
area really affects her study. She stated that she will leave their house and wait for a jeepney, 2
hours before the start of her first period class to avoid being late. She also added that lunch time
is the worst time to wait for a jeepney. Further in the interview, we asked her about her worst
experiences when using public transportation, and she said that waiting for a jeepney is one of
them. She also added that riding in a jam pack jeepney is uncomfortable for her but she does
not have a choice but to ride in that jeepney anyway. A rude jeepney driver and the ones who
drive fast or drivers who drive really slow, pisses her off. Moreover, we ask her for some
suggestions of solutions to the poor public transportation. She suggested that there should be a
fixed schedule of jeepneys that will be on the road to load passengers. She also said that it
would also be better to add another terminal near their barangay.

Hannie Gaille N. Aclan

Our group interviewed a 20 years old female college student, Hannie Gaille N. Aclan. Hannie
loves to watch entertaining shows, eating and exercise after. She also makes sure to do all her
activities on scheduled time. She is not involve in any work other than her studies. Her goal is to
finish her studies and get her dream job, being a flight attendant. She also hopes to start a
business and build her own house and own a car someday. Even though Hannie is an achiever
in class, she also has problems and challenges in adapting and learning in an online class
setting. But she always look forward for another day, think of her family and see her goals to
overcome the challenges that she faces.

Further in the interview, we asked Hannie about her problems on the public transportation in
their area. On schooldays before the pandemic, she often goes out of their house, she said that
she will wait for about 30 minutes to 1 hour to get a ride. She added that in their area, not so
much jeepneys or tricycle passes. As a result of this, she needs to prepare early because if not,
she will be late on her classes. She also added that getting a jeepney from school to their house
is the same. Sometimes she will just walk for one hour from school to their house if there were
really no jeepney available that will pass on their area. When she gets really busy at school and
will be finished by night, she will really huddle with the other passengers to get to the jeepney
first. And this happened before the pandemic, she said that it got worse when the pandemic
started.

Moreover, we asked her of her common problems when riding a public vehicle. She said that
waiting for a ride and traffic are her common problems in public transportation. And to conclude
our interview, we ask her for some suggestions to improve public transportation. She said that
limiting the vehicles that use the road, especially private vehicles, will help our public
transportation. She said that having a number coding will be a good solution to lessen the
vehicles that are on the road. (Eto yung sabi nya na magkaron ng per araw na labas hahahaha
para kasing yun yung gusto nyang sabihin eh hahahahah)

Alessandra De Torres
Alessandra, who is a sixteen year old girl, likes reading, dancing and does creative writing. As of
now, she is still a full time student and not yet running any business. Her main life goals are to
fulfill her greatest dream, to help others, especially those who are in need, and to make her
family proud. She said that there are many obstacles that she is currently facing, not only for
herself but for the majority of people. She also added that this pandemic has posed a significant
challenge to all of us; her mental health has suffered as a result, and so has her social life and
her plans. According to her, our way of living was impacted, especially now that there is a crisis.
But, due to the efforts of her support system, those who believe in her, the challenges and
obstacles she faced are now a dying breed, and she is grateful for that. During her tough days,
her family, friends, and others who love and trust her help compensate for her support system.
God and her desire to improve the way of living, motivates her to get up every day.

During the interview, she stated her concerns about the public transportation in their place.
Before the pandemic, she goes out almost every day and she would wait for about 15-20
minutes for a ride. The poor public transportation affected her because she often arrived late in
school especially when the jeepneys were fully loaded and she spent a long time waiting. Most
of the time, the public transports are not stable. Also, if there are events, it is inappropriate for
her to ride in a public vehicle. Another thing is when the jeepney is already full, the drivers still
insist for the passengers to get in even if there is no vacant seat anymore. To cope with these
problems, she thought to have a private service as it is really hard for her to get a ride
immediately or she could wait for a jeepney earlier than usual for her to have a spare time and
prevent from being late at school. She suggested that to improve public transportation in their
barangay, good discipline is really needed, not just for drivers, but also for all the passengers.
Also, having an organized system for public transit is a great step as it will provide a great
impact for both the drivers and passengers.

Kyla Lorraine A. Hernandez

Kyla, who is an eighteen year old student from University of Batangas, is fond of reading
wattpad stories and books during her free time. Usually, her practices in life include focusing on
online classes and doing activities or studying for any quizzes or exams. She said that her
activities outside are now limited because of the pandemic that is why she is maximizing her
time in doing schoolworks that needs to be finished. Currently, she is a full time student and
since she just turned eighteen, she focuses on her studies and still not yet managing any
business or any sideline activities.

She said that she is a family-oriented person, that is why her personal motivation has always
been them in achieving her goals and she’s not only aiming for her personal achievement but
also she is doing her best for her family. Her goals are to finish her studies and get her dream
profession which is to become a CPA lawyer to be able to provide for her family, as well as to
have a purposeful life, and to feel a sense of contentment despite bad occurrences in her life. At
this time of pandemic, she said that despite of the bad and unexpected circumstances that
happened, she is still thankful because her family is healthy and they are not experiencing the
hardships of other people like passing away of their loved ones and says that we can not deny
that everything has been affected because of the pandemic. She also said that she is still
thankful that even though there are internet connectivity issues in her place, and fear with the
current events that might happen in her family who often goes outside to work, still, life goes on
with these challenges. In addition, she said that there are times that she felt really tired
physically, mentally and emotionally but despite all these, she can always handle those by being
reminded that she is not alone because she has her family by her side and as well as God as
her savior and guidance in everything she faces in life. She said that continuous prayers would
be helpful and eventually, everything would be alright. Everyday is a new beginning for her and
a new chance to fulfill her goals and continue to be part of others' lives. Her biggest motivator is
her goals that drive her to wake up everyday. She always keeps in mind that anything that she
lacked in the previous days should be fulfilled in the mornings that would come. Being
productive for a meaningful work done and believing that she can be at her best by having faith
in herself- totally motivates her to get out of bed in the morning. As simple as that, knowing her
motivators and motivations will help her decide to get back to the process of achieving
something for herself and loved ones.

During the interview, she stated her concerns about the public transportation in their place. She
said that before the pandemic, there are already difficulties regarding with public transportation
like she can not easily ride a jeepney because these vehicles comes from a far place which is
located in Dagatan, Batangas that is why when these vehicles comes to their place, most of the
time these are already full of passengers. She felt that it is circumstantial because there are
times wherein she can easily ride a public vehicle and lots of jeepneys would come to their
place. In our current situation today wherein we are experiencing pandemic, most of the time
she is riding a tricycle because when it is already late, there are no vehicles that can be seen
around due to limited passengers and limited capacity in every jeepney because of the
implementation of social distancing. She also stated that the public transportation is also costly
now that we have a pandemic because the jeepneys before would take you straight in Batangas
City, unlike today that we still need to ride a jeep again after riding the tricycle to Gulod,
Batangas City. She also said that she is not a type of person who always goes outside and
would only go out when it is important like for scholarship or school matters. Usually, her mother
is always the one who buys stuff or does the grocery. There are also circumstances wherein
she leaves their house to go to the city and she can ride a public vehicle after 5 minutes of
waiting but there are times that almost 2 hours would pass just to get a vehicle to ride
depending with the time, usually when it is early, she can easily catch a transportation which is
fifteen minutes maximum but when the time is already around 10 in the morning, waiting time
usually is 1 hour to 2 hours but when riding tricycles in our place, usually it leaves immediately
but sometimes it would take some time when looking for more passengers to ride with. Kyla also
stated that the poor public transportation in her place affects her in a way that instead of
lessening the time which is consumed with transportation with the help of jeepneys or tricycles
and to allot the remaining time in other activities, the tendency is it always takes a long time just
to get a ride. She said that discipline is so important that when there are commitments that need
to be attended to, you have to be early as much as possible in waiting so that you would not be
late which is what she always does that is why the poor transportation only affects her slightly.
Other problems she encountered with the poor public transportation besides no available
jeepneys or other public vehicles, she also said that some drivers are driving so fast that makes
her fear for her own safety and there are no TDROs around in their barangay to catch those
kinds of drivers.

She suggested that jeepney drivers or the association must consider a schedule, she knew that
the drivers already have those now, but she said that as much as possible, the schedule of the
jeepneys are aligned to the time wherein there are lots of passengers like in the morning that
there are people who need to go to their work and to schools and especially in the afternoon
wherein the students would come to their homes. Her last suggestion is that drivers should be
more careful in driving because there are lots of lives that are in their hands and might be
affected on their way of driving.

Zaira Mae Pasia

A 20-year old girl, Zaira Mae Pasia, loves to read books, cook, and watch shows. She is
currently a full time student that is why she is not yet managing any business. Her goals are to
achieve her dreams for herself and also, for her family. She said that one of her current
challenges that she is facing right now is to pass her requirements in school and she handles it
by getting motivation from her blockmates who also suffer in online classes like her during this
time that we have a pandemic. She said that the person who gives her strength during her
tough days is herself and what drives her to wake up everyday is her online classes.

During the interview, she stated her concerns about the public transportation in their place.
Before the pandemic, almost every day she is going outside with the use of public
transportation. Since she lives in a barrio, jeepneys rarely pass by their place and when they do,
most of the time it is already full of passengers. Then, the longest waiting time she experienced
was 30-40 minutes before she can actually ride a public vehicle. And also, since they are near a
school, she can easily ride a jeepney during the morning because lots of students are getting off
the jeepneys in front of their house but it only happens when there are classes in that school.
Now that we are facing a pandemic, she said that she is not yet going out with the use of public
transportation, because she is not going outside their house. She admitted that the poor public
transportation affects her daily life especially when going to school, it makes her very prone to
being late and then since she has motion sickness, sometimes, she gets dizzy during the
ride especially that there are drivers who are not stable with their way of driving. She copes
with the poor transportation in her barangay by waking up early to prepare and wait for a
ride. She also stated that the usual problem that she encountered is that since it is a public
transportation, it is very stressful for her and it can not be helped. The noise and smoke
stresses her too. She suggested that it would be better if there are specific zones for the
passengers who are waiting for public vehicles and a collaboration between the barangay
and the people who manages the public transportation in that place.

Gerald Z. Acain Jr.

A 20 year old male, Gerald, likes engaging in sports such as basketball and cycling because
for him, it also acts as his exercise. Currently, he is a student so he still does not have a job,
however he owns a small farm that produces rice, coconut, banana and some vegetables. His
goal in life is to finish his studies so he can return the favor to his family, another one is to
become one of the most richest man in the world, to enjoy life doing the things that he want, and
make his dreams come true to make it in a reality because he believes that there is no reason
for you not to achieve things if you will constantly work for it, since success for him is not easy to
achieve that even if you fail, you would still learn from it and quitting should not be an option
because a quitters will never win.

As a student, the challenges that he is currently facing right now is studying at this time of
pandemic especially there are many things contributing to it such as classes being held online
which makes me struggle because I live in a rural community so the internet connection is very
weak that causes a domino effect like it is hard to join meetings, hard to gain more information,
resources and it is hard to understand the lesson especially that some our classes are more on
actual application and also managing my time is an issue for me while studying since I also
have an obligation in my small business. Those are the things I'm facing right now but I handle
them by adapting to the challenges, and making some changes or trying another approach for
it. He also stated that he makes actions to overcome those challenges because at the end of
the day I still manage to make a way to lessen or to resolve those problems. He said that what
gives him strength during his tough days is God and that he always seeks for His guidance in
toughest times because he knows He is always there for him. Also, his family that is always
there to support him gives the main source of strength to him especially in time of need and also
the people around me who always believes in my capabilities and never turned their back
against me which are my friends, and relatives. I continuously motivate myself that by being
reminded that he should reach his goals. He said that the things that drive him to wake up
everyday are his family and the things he wants to achieve because he has an idealist mindset
towards life.

During our interview, he stated his concerns about the public transportation in their place. He
stated that since elementary, he started using public transportation up until now. He usually
goes out thrice a week to go to the bank, to buy groceries and to buy in public markets. For him,
it is really hard to wait or to ride in public transportation in their area because it is rural and far
from the main highway and it would take roughly 45 minutes to an hour and sometimes it
reaches up to 2 hours but it will take more time when it is raining in their place. He admitted that
the poor public transportation has severely affected him to the point that he should wake up so
early in the morning so that he would not be late, it also makes him exhausted because it has
been his routine everyday. He also added that when he is taking a ride from school, he gets
home at around 6 in evening even though his dismissal is 4pm and then after arriving at home,
he still has to do his schoolworks which makes him more drained after experiencing poor public
transportation in their place. He said that in order to cope with the problem regarding the poor
public transportation in their place, he changed his lifestyle like waking up so early in the
morning just to get a ride. The usual problems that he encounters in using public transportation
is that the vehicles tend to be always full because the ratio between the passengers is always
bigger than the vehicle, so most of the time it is always full and sometimes they tend to overload
it which is inconvenient for the passengers that are being pushed or squashed by other people.
He also added that investing in eco-friendly mass transport rather than on small scale transport
systems, modernization of existing transportation to cope with the safety of the passengers and
also to the volume of the commuters are his suggestions in improving the public transportation.
For him, it would be a big relief for fellow citizens in the community if mass transportation will be
available and it would be a big help especially to those who are working and also will help to
uplift the economy in the way that the services and products are not delayed. He added that it
will help fellow students to go to school much faster. Transportation is vital in society so
prioritizing it would make a great difference in the long term.

Renz Mico E. Aclan

A 22 year old male, Renz, likes to use his spare time as a visual artist. Recently, he completed
his degree in Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and he has no job yet. He is
currently accepting commissions from his 3D modeling works. Now that he has already finished
his degree, he said that he still does not know his goals yet. For him, “Life is an experience I
can’t miss out on” and he just looks forward to what wonderful stuff the world can offer. The
current challenge that he is facing right now is the pandemic because it has been really tough
and it is really hard not to worry about its impact on his family and personal interests. He said
that he handles hardships in life by just dealing with it head on and the folks from his general
vicinity gives him strength on his tough days.

During our interview, he stated his concerns about the public transportation in their place. He
stated that he goes outside their house about three to four times per month. Waiting in their
shed to ride a jeepney mostly takes 10 minutes which is the minimum time while the maximum
time is 45 minutes. He admitted that it affects him in a way that it causes stress that comes from
unreliable transportation systems and it negatively affects his work performance. The usual
problems that he encounters is getting in a public vehicle can sometimes be troublesome
especially during rush hours. In order for him to cope with the poor public transportation, he said
that he has to get up early to avoid rush hour. He suggested that the LGU should come up with
a new transport system that is much more reliable than what we currently have and also
inclusion of ride hailing services and train systems will certainly help.

Crisel Anne Ramos

Crisel, a 20 year old girl, likes watching korean dramas and vlogs on YouTube. As a full-time
student, her main goals are to finish her studies, to have a stable job, to sustain the needs of
her family and to become a better person. She said that the challenges that she is facing right
now are the difficulties that she is experiencing in online classes such as poor internet
connection which resulted in a lack of effective interaction between classmates and professors
and in order to handle all her hardships in life, she faces them by having a positive mindset and
avoiding negative thoughts. She also stated that she always asks for guidance and continues to
fight despite those difficulties. God, her family and friends give her strength on her tough days.
For her, just seeing her family drives her to wake up everyday.
During our interview, she stated her concerns about the public transportation in their place. She
said that during this time of pandemic, she is not using public transportation. But before, she
goes out using public transportation almost everyday whenever she is going to school. She
thinks it is about 10 to 20 minutes of waiting. Before the pandemic, the public transportation in
her community was not that poor because many tricycles came and provided services for them.
But now during this time of pandemic, there is a limited number of tricycle drivers coming into
their community. They have no choice so they always bring their own vehicle to go out. Poor
public transportation somehow affects her whenever she is going to school or she has
something to go out because sometimes it leads to delayed appointments or missed schedules
due to a long time of waiting for the vehicles to come. Sometimes the problems are long time of
waiting for the vehicles to come, the tricycle/jeepney is not adequate to accommodate the
passengers so it leads to overloading and also, there are times that the physical features of
those vehicles are not good enough for the passengers due to continuously using them even
they have some damages or parts that are not in good condition. She suggested that the
authority should manage public transportation effectively by organizing the vehicles assigned to
every community which will help everyone to have access to it. She also added that they can
also conduct a meeting with all the tricycle or jeepney drivers to properly organize how they can
provide services to the passengers.

Shane Gonzales

Shane, a 20 year old girl, likes studying for her online classes and watching random videos
during her free time. As of now, she is a full time student and her goal is to finish her studies as
a BSA student and to fulfill her dreams for the future. Online classes and her goals that she
wants to achieve may it be short-term or long-term drives her to wake up every day. The current
problems that she is facing right now are the challenges brought by the pandemic and her
online classes like slow internet connection and the struggles in learning. As a student who also
faces struggles in life, she said that she handles problems by not thinking about them as
problems but as a way to realize the things that are happening within oneself and to make it as
a strength. By thinking of her goals and dreams in life, and people supporting her helps her to
get through her rough times.

During our interview, she stated her concerns about the public transportation in their place.
Before the pandemic, she goes out almost every day. But now, she just goes out
whenever it’s necessary. She usually rides a tricycle in her barangay. If she is going to the town
proper, she would wait for five to fifteen minutes for the transportation. But If she is going to
Batangas City, she would wait for almost an hour in the morning and more than an hour in the
afternoon. It has a huge impact on her part because she has to spare some time in waiting for a
ride since the public transportation in her barangay is very hard. As she has said earlier, the
usual problems that she encounters are the limited and rare public transportation, the jeepneys
or tricycle are often loaded with passengers, expensive fare, and some of the roads are
defective. She copes with it by allocating excess time to wait since she has a hard time with it
and the rides are only limited so patience is really needed. In the last part of the interview, she
suggested solutions for these problems like the improvement of ordinances and policies about
public transportation and monitoring of it, for instance, if drivers are following the proper fare
policies and such.
