Answer:

i. A∩B

= { 3,5,7,9 } ∩ {7,9,11,13}

= {7 , 9}

ii. A ∪ C’

= { 3,5,7,9 } ∪{7,9,5,13}

= {3, 5, 7, 9, 13}

iii. A ∩ B (B ∩C)’

= { 3,5,7,9 } ∩ {11}

= {3,5,7,9 } ∩ {3,5,7,9,13,15}
= {3,5,7,9 }
Answer:

i. Domain of g = { 1,2,3 }

Co-domain of g = { A, B, C, D }

ii. g(1)=A

g(1)=B

g(1)=D

a) Illustrate is directed graph.

b) Determine whether the relation R above is reflexive, symmetric or transitive. Explain


your answers.

Not reflexive because (3.3) not in R but (2,4) not in R not transitive because

(4,2) and (2,3) in R but (3,4) not in R
