cycle safely where you live? Have you ever fallen off a bike?
 Page 97 - Complete the ‘Grammar in Context’ activity. According to you, what are the
correct words or phrases in those sentences? Why?
 We’re going to work with Time Clauses now, and to understand more about this
structure, watch THIS video. Take notes of the sentences used at the beginning of the
video.
 After you watched the video, complete the chart with the rules

Future Time Clauses start with _______ _________ such as 1) ______, 2) __________, 3)
________ 4) _______ 5) ________ 6) __________ 7) _________ 8) __________
9)______________.
Use of time clauses

We use a Time Clause to show that an _____ will happen at a ________ ________
e.g.: “When I get home, I’ll call you”
What is the condition that must occur for us to call that person?

!*Form of a time clause

Time word/phrase + Present Simple (not WILL)

As soon as I get home…

As soon as I get home, I will do my homework.

Once you meet Paul, you’ll love him.
When you arrive, you’ll see it.

We can also change the order of the clauses and use ‘will’ at the beginning of the sentence.
The door ____ ____ (shut) as soon as I push the button.
They _____ ______ (finish) their homework before the film starts.
Tim _______ ______ (wait) until you’re back.

*We can also use Present continuous and Present Perfect in time clauses

I won’t listen to music while I’m doing my homework

I’ll call you once I’ve finished my homework

 Now, it’s our time to practice . Complete exercises 1, 2 and 3 (Page 97). Use your notes
every time you need them.
 Exchange answers with a partner and correct each other’s mistakes, then mark their
performance.
 Let’s have some fun! Create a meme about this topic and the class. It can express
something you liked, you didn’t like or a doubt you have as regards the class. Go to
www.memegenerator.net and let your creativity fly! Copy and paste your meme on a
document and send it to me via Campus so I can see it.

Good job! See you next class!
