user-friendly interface is required.

In 1984, Apple produced the Macintosh, which was the first computer with a mouse and a graphical user interface (GUI). The design goal of
the Mac is clear: to promote interaction with the computer. A few years later, Microsoft released Windows, another graphical-based
operating system, and intuitive tools. Today, computers are used by all kinds of people, which is why people are paying more and more
attention to accessibility and user-friendly systems.

The GUI uses the WIMP environment: windows, icons, menus, and pointers. The background

consistent and have similar toolbars, menus, bars, buttons, and dialog boxes. Modern operating
systems also provide network access and multitasking, which means you can run multiple
programs and multitask.

The most popular operating systems are:

Windows series: designed by Microsoft and used in most PCs. The latest version is Windows Vista.
Mac OS - Created by Apple and used on Macintosh computers.
Unix - A multi-user system that can be found on mainframes and workstations at company premises.
Linux – Open-source software developed under the GNU General Public License. This means that anyone can copy, modify and
distribute its source code. It is used in computers, household appliances and small equipment.
Windows Mobile - used in most PDAs and smartphones (PDAs, including mobile phones)
Palm OS - Used in Palm handheld devices.
RIM: used in BlackBerry communication devices. Developed by Research In Motion.
Symbian operating system: used by some phone manufacturers, including Nokia and Siemens.

These computing platforms are different in areas such as device installation, network connection, or
application software compatibility. the computer platform is a system that serves as the basis
for operating certain hardware or software modules with
which it is compatible.
