Choosing storage devices

In pairs, look at the products in the computer catalogue and choose the most suitable device for the purposes (1-
6). Give reasons for your choices. Try to use some connectors form the HELP box on page 54

1) To keep the operating system and the programs on a home computer

In this case I think that we are talking about a Seagate Hard Drive, because it works to store
programs and the operating system, among other applications, files, documents, photos, music
and more within the computer.

2) To watch a movie on a plane or in the back seat of a car

Ok in this situation the sentence refers to a Panasonic portable DVD player. Because it
has a small screen on which you can play movies or videos. Since it is very small, it can
be easily fitted into a car so that passengers can enjoy something entertaining.

3) To hold your favorite photos and music

Toshiba USB flash drive would be appropriate in this case since it is a small memory in which we can store
important things or also things like photos, videos, music, documents and more, thanks to its small size it is
very easy to transport.

4) To make backup copies and to transport files between computers in a big company
For this purpose, Iomega portable hard drive is the most suitable, because device allows you to
save all kinds of information. Because the portable hard drive has a huge storage capacity. So, I
choose it to save company information. For example, you may have important documents on your
computer, such as: company accounting, the income generated by the company daily, weekly,
monthly, quarterly, and annually. Therefore, some companies make backup copies from time to
time to securely obtain all information, so it is a good idea to do so, because you may need it sometimes.

5) To hold historical records in the national library

Toshiba USB flash drives store information well. This is a device that allows us to store a
lot of information. In addition, in USB, you can save various information, such as videos,
audios, documents, images, etc, but it depends on the storage capacity. On the other hand,
USB is a device that allows us to easily access information in a fast way.

6) To read, write and re-write high-definition video and tv.

We are talking about the Lacie DVD drive, the device can be used for many purposes, the first is to create
audio CDs where you can save your favorite songs, and you can also create DVD video
discs, you can also create data CDs or DVDs, and you can make backup copies or copy
