MODULE 7: BEHAVIORISM

From Module on Behaviorism, I realized that learning is based on the idea that all
behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Conditioning occurs through interaction with the
environment. I learned that our responses to other people and socialization shape our actions.

MODULE 8: NEO-BEHAVIOURISM
From Module on Neo-behaviorism, I realized that our behavior cannot be fully
understood simply in terms of observable stimuli and reactions. We act based on beliefs,
attitudes, changing conditions which strive towards our goals. Learning also can occur through
observation alone without a change in behavior. Reinforcement and punishment influence the
result of individuals’ behavior that has been learned.

MODULE 9: GESTALT PSYCHOLOGY

From Module on Gestalt psychology, I realized that it encourages people to “think

outside the box” and look for patterns. Observing the whole of an object or scene is more
important than its individual parts. Observing the whole help us find order in chaos and unity
among outwardly unrelated parts and pieces of information.

MODULE 10: INFORMATION PROCESSING

From the module on Information Processing, I realized that it helps individuals to

identify relative cues via selective attention, therefore increasing movement reactions which will
lead ultimately to successful outcome. Successful outcomes are increased if strategies helps to
enhance our ability to store more information in the long term memory is practiced.

1. Explain the educational implication of the social learning theory of Albert Bandura.
Modeling is very important in Bandura’s theory. Children tend to perform as their
parents expect. Teachers can use techniques learned from different theories to help the
students succeed and to reduce the stress that affects the student’s success and
performance.

2. By means of an example, explain the stages in processing information.

Roxanne is just learning to read, and she’s struggling. She’s a very slow reader
and by the time she finishes a sentence, she can’t remember how it started. Reading, like
other types of learning is about storing information in person’s mind. Specifically,
learning involves storing and accessing information in memory.

MODULE 11: GAGNE’S CONDITIONS OF LEARNING

From the module on Gagne’s Conditions of Learning, I realized that each different type
of learning calls for different types of instruction. There are different types of learners or levels
of learning. Different instruction is required for different learning outcomes.

MODULE 12: AUSUBEL THEORY

From the module on Ausubel theory, I realized that students gradually learn to associate
new knowledge with existing concepts in their mental structures. To ensure meaningful teaching,
necessary to avoid rote memorizing of facts, students need to manipulate ideas actively.

MODULE 13: BRUNER’S CONSTRUCTIVIST THEORY

From the module on Bruner’s Constructivist Theory, I realized that children learn about
the world through actions on physical objects and the outcomes of these actions. Rewards and
punishment should be selected and paced appropriately.

TEACHING IS NOT FILLING UP THE PAIL, IT IS LIGHTING A FIRE

The teacher’s role is not only feeding the learners with the knowledge but also engaging
and motivates the learner to learn and understand the lesson on their own. The teacher is only the
guide.

DESCRIBE A TEACHER LIKENED TO DEAD SEA AND TEACHER LIKENED TO

THE SEA OF GALILLEE.
Dead Sea is likened to teacher which gives the information or feeding knowledge to the
students but the students didn’t understand what the teacher discussing. The Sea of Galillee is
likened to a teacher because it tends to give the knowledge to the learners but understand and
remembered his/her lessons which has a great contribution in to the life of students.
