 Some useful Suggestions for NIT Jamshedpur Students
1. Do not miss a class, except when it is absolutely necessary.
2. Do not miss the date of semester registration.
3. Actively Involve/Participate in various student activities: Clubs, Departmental Society, CULFEST, OJASS,
Sports, Alumni meet, Conferences, Hostel management and Developmental activities of the Institute.
4. Actively participate in the journey of academic excellence and good governance of NIT Jamshedpur.
5. Build the brand image of NIT Jamshedpur for your academic and professional growth.
6. You should treat the property of the Institute as your own and should not damage.
7. Always keep in touch with your Class Committee Members, Faculty, Faculty Advisor and HOD for all
academic related matters.
8. Always keep in touch with your Assistant Warden/Warden/Chief Warden and DSW for wellness and welfare.
9. Always update your personal data / information in the database of the MIS which is mandatory.
10. Never indulge in ragging, even remotely, it is below the dignity of a NITian.
11. Treat every person with respect. Always address your teacher as Professor< >instead of Mr. < >, Mrs. < >, or
Dr. < >.
12. Keep your campus and hostels clean and green.
13. You should not keep valuables in your hostel room(s), Institute management shall not be responsible for their
loss.
14. You should keep your bicycles locked.
15. You should not ride the Power Vehicles in the Institute campus.
16. Never feel afraid of sitting with students of a higher class and never feel insulted if a student of lower class
sits with you.
17. Do not allow yourself to harbour a narrow regional mentality, it does not suit a student of an Institution of
National Importance.
18. In case of illness, visit Institute Doctor/TMH & Use your medical card also in authorized hospitals.
19. For education loan visit SBI, NIT Campus/ Vidyalakshmi portal https://www.vidyalakshmi.co.in
20. Do not delay payment of Institute Fee or Hostel Mess advance.
21. For career oriented decisions, anxiety, emotional stress, home sickness & loneliness, Drugs or Alcohol
addiction and Low self-confidence, please meet the counsellor. He is a helping professional, offers support
and understands, listen and respond to your problems.
22. Never call your Institute a "College".
23. Always walk with your head high, you are a student of NIT Jamshedpur.
24. Always carry your identity card.
25. Follow the safety rules and guide lines during rail/road journey.
