FIRST DRAFT OF WRITTEN COPY FOR A MAGAZINE
DOUBLE-PAGE SPREAD:
Editor’s letter (FIRST EDITION):
What’s better than having a new, fresh magazine to read while you soak up that hot summer
weather? This exciting first issue covers everything you need for this August from your go-to outfits
for this season on page 22 to being within a chance of winning 2 FREE weekend tickets for
Reading/Leeds festivals on page 53. What more could you want! Our main story will horrify you as
we talk to a 16-year-old woman who has two potential fathers for her unborn child – will she ever
get closer to the truth? Find out on page 16! Trust me, your fingertips will never want to leave this
jam-packed FIRST issue alone!
When I was little, I can always remember pointing my fragile young fingers to the baggy tops and
baggy bottoms in clothes stores and asking my mum “please can I have dat” and she would always
let me. It is only recently that people seem to find a problem with what I decide to wear. When
uploading to my Instagram feed, the comments would be full of “wear something girly” or going as
far to address me as “transgender”. Of course, I underestimated the “easiness” of making a public
profile on social media- it’s a tough crowd out there. Tackling trolls is a skill that I have had to work
on over time as it is something you don’t expect to have to learn at such a young age (Shows how
messed up society is, I guess). I would always encourage women and men to wear whatever they
want and make sure to not allow invisible boundaries to stop you!
