MASTER PLAN ELEMENTS
A Master Plan is organized into sections called “Elements.” Each Element includes an evaluation of
conditions and guiding principals to plan for the future.
The Village of Ridgewood’s new Master Plan will consist of the following Elements:

• A required Element of the Master Plan pursuant to the Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL)
• Includes:
• Relationship between land use and other elements
• Natural features (topography, soil conditions, floodplains, woodlands, etc.
• Existing and proposed land uses, standards for population density and
development intensity – forms the basis for zoning
• Statement of strategy concerning
• Smart Growth (including potential locations for electric vehicle charging)
• Storm resiliency
• Environmental Sustainability
