LAND USE ELEMENT
Existing Conditions:
• Vast majority of the town is single-family residential; no vacant and
developable land
• Four main commercial areas, most focused downtown
• Limited areas of zoning vs. land use mismatch – Does not speak to a need for
reclassification of zones
• Initial analysis suggests residential zones have many undersized lots
• Population has fluctuated, but remained the same for 60 years
• 1960 = 25,391; 2020 = 25,979
• Recent development trends have seen new multi-family construction
downtown, limited otherwise
