I. Summary
DPP-140 model multifunctional automatic blister packing machine is innovated
and designed by integrating advantages of domestic and international aluminum-
plastic packing machines. The key parts of the machine adopt five items of patented
technology of our company. It is applicable for packing of pharmacy tablets, sugar
coated tablets and capsules in pharmacy, and also applicable for packing of small
slices of food, hardware components and electric components etc. Integrating the ten
functions such as coiled materials uncoiling, aluminum-plastic feeding, blister
molding, materials filling, waste recovery, aluminum-plastic hot seal, batch No.
printing, checkered impression, plate cutting blade, displaying and counting etc. into
one machine, the machine has good, safe and sanitary packing materials and its
performance and price are more excellent than same products at home and abroad.
Thanks to its advanced technology, the machine has successively passed the
appraisal for scientific results of Zhejiang Province and has been listed into National
Key New Products, and it has also been listed into National Spark Demonstration
Projects for development. The machine is the equipment that carries out technical
improvement and implements GMP for production in pharmaceutical packing
industry in China. The products are deeply favored by users that they have been sold

to many medicine plants and large and medium-sized hospitals all over the country
and have been exported to India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Burundi, Hong Kong and
Taiwan etc. countries and area.

II. Performance Characteristics


1. Frequency conversion stepless speed control with blanking frequency of 6-
35times/min.
2. Adjustable stroke with adjustment range of 40~110mm. The adjustment is
convenient and the synchronization is accurate.
3. It adopts plate type mold with positive pressure forming, and is provided
with functions such as batch No. printing, impression cutting line, aluminum
foil/plastic automatic conveying, broken piece, complete piece, automatic
stopping and alarming.
4. It is equipped with a general-purpose feeder, with the filling rate amounting
to over 99.5%. The feeder has a dust absorption interface, which can
eliminate the powder formed during the feeding process.
5. It adopts register matching heating, which can reduce the loss of heat energy
of heater to the minimum extent and the temperature required by the heater is
greatly reduced.
6. The machine has such features as small volume, light weight, compact
structure, easy operation and convenient maintenance.

IV. Structure and Principle


Refer to (figure 1) for the structure of the machine, which is composed of base,
forming mechanism, feeder, hot seal impression mechanism, blanking mechanism,
traction mechanical hand and electric control etc. parts.

The main driving is driven by gear reducing motor. The sprocket on the output
shaft of reducer drives the main shaft sprocket to operate and then the sprocket chain
will drive the traction cam, so as to realize the reciprocating movement of mechanical
interlocking at intervals. Forming and hot seal heating board adopts cylinder as the
driving power so as to realize the vertical lifting movement of forming mold and
checkered mold plate.
The medicine-use PVC enters into the forming mold after it is heated and
softened in the heating board, and it will be carried out positive pressure forming by
the compressed air, and then capsules or tablets are filled by the general-purpose
feeder. The aluminum foil coiled materials will be uncoiled and conveyed through the
micro motor, and enter into the hot seal mold to carry out checkered hot seal with
plastic piece containing medicine. After hot seal, they will be carried out cutting line
impression, batch No. printing in the impression mold and then will be blanked in the
blanking mold.

V. Starting Operation
1. Connect the pipes for water inlet, water outlet and air inlet according to the
indication on the nameplate on the machine. Refer to the electric principle
diagram. Connect 220 AC power supply (L, N) and connect the protection
grounding (air compressor will be connected outside the machine).
2. Turn on the air switch QS, and turn on the ON/OFF switch 1 0 of power
supply on the control panel, turn on the upper and lower heating and hot seal
heating switch 1 0, at the time, the frequency converter will display 00, and
the machine is under the standby status (note: the parameter of DV700
frequency conversion speed controller has been set when leaving the factory,
and also can be set according to the requirement). Set the temperature of
temperature controller, for heat seal, it shall be about 150℃, and for forming
upper and lower heating, it shall be about 110℃. If necessary to change the
temperature, please adjust the set temperature according to the use instruction
of temperature controller (note: it has been set when leaving the factory, but
the detail temperature depends on the PVC plastic quality and environment
temperature etc. factors).
3. The cam bearing and eccentric wheel oil box shall be added with engine oil,
which shall follow the principle of not overflowing. When starting the
machine, all moving parts shall be added with a little engine oil.
4. Lift the aluminum foil conveying arm 9 as shown in figure 9 until the feeding
motor 10 starts. Output enough aluminum foil and put down the conveying
arm (note: the plastic traction button 1 0 can be used only when passing the
plastic piece, and shall not be used under normal operation to avoid
influencing synchronization).
5. After the preheating temperature reaches the set temperature, open the
compressed air and first press 0 manual switch to observe if the operation is
normal. If there is no abnormal situation, press the automatic operation
switch to 1 to turn it on. At the time, the hot seal heating board will

automatically descend (note: during inching of hot seal lifting, no operation
is made. Press lifting switch 1 to operate). When the machine starts to
operate, after the forming, hot seal and blanking conform to the standard,
turn on the feeder speed adjustment button 1, appropriately adjust the speed
and then turn on the feeding gate. Control the medicine quantity and turn on
the cooling water.

VI. Adjustment and Usage


1. Forming
The installation of forming mold: when the forming bracket is at the lower
ending point, push the forming mold into the bracket, align it with the blowing mold
and lock the pressing board. Loosen the stroke adjustment nut for forming part and
move forward and backward along the sliding groove until the blister coincides with
the hot seal mold, then lock the stroke adjustment nut.
2. Hot seal
Installation of hot seal mold: during the installation of hot seal mold, pay
attention that it must coincide with the blister in the forming plastic piece. If the front
and back deviation 4 occurs as shown in figure 4, loosen the knurled nut 38 in figure
1, rotate the knurled nut 39 and adjust it clockwise, the forming mold will move
forward, that is, the blister position will move forward. Loosen the knurled nut 39,
rotate the knurled nut 38 and adjust it clockwise, the forming mold will move
backward, that is, the blister position will move backward.
If the left and right deviation 5 occurs as shown in figure 4, loosen the pressing
board of hot seal mold and move the hot seal mold leftward or rightward to make the
blister of forming plastic piece coincide with the hot seal mold.
Adjustment of hot seal pressure: during the adjustment, put one piece of plastic
piece between hot seal mold and checkered board to avoid damaging the checkered
board and hot seal mold. Lift the cam 12 as shown in figure 5 to the highest point to
make the checkered board coincide with the hot seal mold. Adjust the set nut 6 to
make it be 2~3mm away from the workbench surface, and fasten the hexagonal nut 6.
During first adjustment, the pressure shall not be too high. When the machine
operates normally, carry out fine adjustment according to hot seal effect. After the
pressure is adjusted, adjust the round set nut 6 to rotate it upward until the upper cover
plate is locked. After the forming mold and hot seal mold are adjusted, adjust the rails,
so as to keep each side of the two rails close to the side of blister. Pay attention that
the long rail as shown in figure 4 shall not be kept too close.
3. Impression and blanking
3.1 The installation method of impression mold is same as that of hot seal mold.
Align the center position and the pressure shall not be too high, or else, the
blade and steel character may be damaged. During the adjustment, add
pressure slowly from light to heavy until the plate after cutting can be torn
down. The correct position of cutting shall be the center position between
blister eyes.
3.2 When installing the blanking mold, tear down the four ball-head nuts on the

blanking column, and remove the blanking cover plate, install the assembled
blanking mold and cover the cover plate, then fasten the upper and lower
molds with bolts onto the upper cover plate and blanking guide board. If the
blanked plate deviates leftward and rightward, it may be that the rail is askew
or the center of forming mold is askew, which shall be adjusted again. If the
blanked plate deviates forward and backward, use the adjusting handwheel
(3) in figure 1 to make the blanking mechanism move forward or backward.
4. Traction mechanism
The adjustment operation for the stroke of the machine is as shown in figure 6.
First stop the swinging rod 3 at the vertical position, loosen the fastening screw 8 and
rotate the stroke adjustment button. Rotate it to leftward, the stroke will increase.
Rotate it rightward, the stroke will decrease. Adjust it to the required size, and lock
the fastening screw to compete the adjustment.
5. Position of valve cam and its adjustment
The installation sequence of valve cam on the shaft: from the inside to the
outside, the sequence shall be traction holding cylinder cam, backstop cylinder cam,
forming blowing cam and forming cylinder cam. The valve cam is installed according
to the position as shown in figure 8.
5.1 When the hot seal mold linking hot seal cam 8 as shown in figure 5 returns to
the lowest point, the traction mechanism is at the cam 5 position in figure 6.
The mechanical control valve of traction holding cylinder is slightly earlier
than the cam 12 in figure 5 to open.
5.2 When the traction of traction mechanism is static, the backstop cylinder will
return to clamp.
5.3 When the forming mold and blowing mold are closed, the blowing cam will
start the mechanical control valve, that is, to carry out blowing and forming.
5.4 The ascending of forming cylinder shall be synchronous with the hot seal
cam.
The general process is: after the traction clamps the plastic piece, the positioning
cylinder of plastic piece will immediately loosen, and the mechanical hand will start
the traction. After the mechanical hand reaches the designated position and stops, the
positioning cylinder of plastic piece will press the plastic piece and the forming
cylinder and blanking will ascend to operate. The traction holding will loosen, the
traction mechanical hand will return, and the forming cylinder and blanking will
descend to the original position. Thus, a cycle of operation is finished.
6. Aluminum foil automatic feeding mechanism
As shown in figure 9: during the operation, the aluminum foil will drive the
swinging arm 9 to ascend, so as to align the round head screw with the photoelectric
switch 11, the motor 10 will start to work. After the aluminum foil is fed, the
swinging arm will descend accordingly to make the round head screw contact the
photoelectric switch. The motor will stop and the feeding operation is finished.
Operation will be made in this way repeatedly.

VII. Installation and Maintenance

1. When unpacking, please check if the machine is complete, if the accessories
are same as the list, and if there is any damage during the transportation.
2. The machine shall be installed horizontally indoors. There is no need to
install anchor bolt. Put a rubber plate about 12mm at the bottom of feet, or
else, ground damage and displacement may occur after long time use.
3. Before starting the machine, complete cleaning shall be made. Dip some soap
(or detergent) with soft cloth and wipe off the surface oil stain and dirt, then
dry them with soft cloth.
4. For the sake of safety, please connect the ground line according to the
position designated by the grounding sign.
5. The machine shall be operated and maintained by professional persons.
6. The operator must be familiar with use instruction and carry out operation
after getting basic knowledge of structure and use method of the machine.
7. Gears, sprockets, guide covers and cams of transmission mechanism shall be
added with engine oil once every shift.
8. The bevel gear speed reducer shall be regularly added with 3# molybdenum
disulfide natrium-base lubrication according to use instruction of
manufacturer.

VIII. Common Malfunctions and Troubleshooting
