DNA extraction is a routine procedure used to isolate DNA from the nucleus of cells.

MATERIALS: 1)Ethanol 2)banana 3)coffee filter 4)Dish-Washing soap 5)Salt

6)two glass cups 7)Filter funnel 8)Glass rod 9)Zip-lock bag 10)Gloves

PROCEDURE:
1)We should smash banana since we will not see the parts of bananas

2)We should take a water and add it to our glass cup after 2 teaspoons of dish-
washing soap. After mixing all this liquid I added 1 teaspoon of salt.
3)After smashing bananas , we should add our bananas to zip-lock bag.

4) Then we add our liquid with soap and dining-wish soap to our zip-lock bag
and mix with bananas, and wait our mixture for 15 minutes
5)After waiting 15 minutes we filter our mixture and add our ethanol to our
mixture and wait for 10 minutes
6)After 15 minutes our experiment done , and we can see a white slime which
we will take it from glass cup carefully

precipitates out of solution

extract the DNA, the dishwasher soap helps to dissolve the cell membrane to
release DNA. Salt helps the DNA strands to stick to each other,it will be
enough large for us so we can see it easily.The ethanol allows DNA to separate
from other cellular substances. Finally, the DNA is removed from the
solution
3) DNA is normally found as a loosely contained structure called chromatin within
the nucleus, where it is wound up and associated with a variety of histone
proteins.
