Nizami Ganjavi, Nizami Ganje'i,


Nizami, or Nezāmi, whose formal
name was Jamal ad-Dīn Abū
Muḥammad Ilyās ibn-Yūsuf ibn
Zakkī, was a 12th-century
Persian Sunni Muslim poet.
Nezāmi is considered the
greatest romantic epic poet in
Persian literature, who brought a
colloquial and realistic style to
the Persian epic.

Biography:
Nizami Ganjavi (pseudonym; real
name-Ilyas Yusif oglu) (1141-1209)-is a
great Azeri poet and philosopher. He
was born in a craftsman's
family,received education in
madrasah, and perfectly studied the
medival sciences on his own. Nizami
also became closely acquainyed with
the oral and written literature of the
Near East.
