1. Name: The Saint Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral

Year of Construction: 1624 (original), 1649 (2nd reconstruction), 1841 (3rd


reconstruction), 1946 (4th reconstruction), 2015 (major recent renovation)

Materials used: The materials used for the 1624 version of the cathedral were
wood, bamboo, and cogon grass. In 1649, it was destroyed then reconstructed
with wood and nipa. In 1841, the church was reconstructed again using molave
wood, marine stones from China, burnt shell powder mixed with resin juice as
cement, and galvanized iron or zinc for the roof. The current version of the
cathedral has been renovated and makes use of wood, stained glass, reinforced
concrete, and structural steel as its materials.

Materials used in the construction: The foundation of the house was constructed
through the use of cement and wood. While the material used for the flooring of the
house consisted of bricks and marble.
