DEFINITION

Conductometer is a tool used to determine the


conductivity of a solution and measure the degree of
ionization of an electrolyte solution in water by
determining the resistance of a liquid column.

PROCEDURE
CALIBRATION OF CONDUCTOMETER

1. Connect to power source and press the power button

2. Then press the “CAL” button

3. Rinse the electrode with aquadest

4. Wipe with tissue

5. Put the electrode in the calibration solution

6. Wait until a graphic image appears

7. Press the “STO” button

8. Wait until pop-up “Calibration OK” and “Value of K” appears

MEASUREMENT OF SAMPLE WITH CONDUCTOMETER

1. Rinse the electrode with aquadest and wipe with tissue

2. Put the electrode in the sample

3. Wait until a graphic image appears

4. Press the “STO” button and record the measured of DHL

5. Turn off the conductometer by pressing “OFF” button

6. Unplug the cable from the power source
