What I Need to Know

A sewing machine costs a lot so; it must be given special care. It is important to know
its different parts and its functions. Your knowledge of the parts of a sewing machine helps you
to care for it properly at the same time, pinpoint which part causes the trouble when it breaks
down.
When the sewing machine breaks down, analyze which part causes the breakdown.
Then, try to repair it using the different solutions suggested in this module. Simple repairs may
be made but if the sewing machine has trouble which is beyond your capacity to repair, call a
qualified person to repair it to prevent further damage.
This module covers one competency in dressmaking which is resolving common
machine troubles and its remedies that a Grade 7 Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE)
learner like you ought to have.
After going through this module, you are expected to:
 identify the common troubles of sewing machine;
(TLE_HEDM7/8BM-oi-7)
 classify the troubles of sewing machine.
(TLE_HEDM7/8BM-oi-7)
