Blood Sugar Test

One day at the Hospital…..

Nurse : Good morning, Sir.

Patient : Good morning , Nurse.

Nurse : Would you like to tell me your name and your date of birth, please.

Patient : My name is Bangkit Dwi Nugroho and I was born on March, 21 1998.

Nurse : Oke Mr. Bangkit, now is the time to check your blood sugar.

Patient : How to check my blood sugar?

Nurse : I will explain it. Have you eaten yet?

Patient : No. I haven’t.

Nurse : Oke. First, I want to wash and dry my hands well. Second, insert a test strip
into the meter. After that can you give me one of your hands, wipe the finger
with alcohol swab. Prick the side of fingertip with the needle/lancet provided
with the test kit. Gently squeeze or massage the finger until a drop of blood
forms. Touch and hold the edge of the test strip to the drop of blood. The
meter will display patient blood glucose level on a screen after a few second.

Nurse : Oh your blood sugar is 100 mg/dl.

Patient : Is that normal, Nurse?.

Nurse : Yes that’s normal.

Patient : Okay thank you nurse.

Nurse : You’r welcome, Sir. You have to maintain your diet. So that the blood sugar

content in your body remains normal.

Patient : Okay nurse. I will maintain my diet and thank you for your information nurse.

Nurse : You’re welcome, Sir. I will back to the nurse station.
