How important are soft skills in the workplace?

Soft skills are all the attributes, capacities and / or aptitudes that a person has to easily develop a

certain activity that is delegated to him; in other words, do your job effectively. These skills can be

physical, mental, or social. Speaking of the workplace in particular, it covers topics such as:

teamwork, problem solving, effective time management, adaptation to change, work under pressure,

leadership, taking initiative, assertive communication, being diligent, empathetic, having a positive

attitude, good managing interpersonal relationships, and even being creative, and above all a high

sense of belonging to the company, among others.

Aware that in companies, not all collaborators have developed these skills, or have not deepened

enough, for this they have begun to teach various courses and trainings in the market that what they

want is to have a more qualified staff, improving each one of the employees and focusing them on a

different and broader point of view than the one they currently have; On the other hand, the company

cares about carrying out this type of event as a short-term investment so that its collaborators or

professionals have a more advanced level and is empowered to use these skills to be at the level and at

the forefront of what each company required. We see how many companies are interested in training

their staff in the tools that allow them to optimize productivity and improve profitability. Some of the

most prominent and requested courses are Business Writing, Leadership, Effective Presentations,

Negotiation, Interpersonal Communication, and the most popular Time Management.

As time progresses, the world changes and people cannot remain stagnant; You must advance as the

vast majority do, you must make use of the tools offered by all companies and especially today where

many of them are technological resources that we have at a click without having to leave home, you

must maintain constant learning and self-training in order to be competitive, in the labor market and if

we already have a job, do not waste the opportunity to excel and give the best of each skill to be an

example of one or another employee


To conclude, it is important that human beings develop and strengthen their abilities in all

environments, some human abilities such as Manual Dexterity that helps Do or repair things with their

hands, Mechanical ability is understood to understand the operation of different devices. The

Scientific ability is to carry out investigations and Understand scientific laws and carry out scientific

activities, Visualization is the ability to Imagine possible solutions or alternatives to a problem or

situation.

Many people do not stimulate the ability to use language, so they do not have ease of writing and

expressing oneself in writing. How to be human is important to strengthen the skills that are evaluated

when getting a job such as: Meeting people, Interacting with people, Helping others, Helping people

with problems or decisions
