Good morning to my fellow cadets!

To our diligent guest Captain Rolly Flores and Chief Engineer Raul
Manlapaz thank you for your support and help, and to our passionate principal Mr. Jason Flores, and to
our marine tvl coordinators Mr. Kenneth Navarro and Mr. Marvin Zapata, A pleasant morning to all of
you.

I'm Cadet Jaypoll Manalad, a second-year student of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation in
the MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy. 3 years ago, I took all the risk and face my fears as I walked on
the path of being a seafarer. On my journey as a freshmen student, I find it hard, mahirap kasi
madaming pagsubok. Una kasi malayo ako sa pamilya ko, hindi naman po ako sanay na nalalayo sa
kanila ng ilang buwan. New environment, new people to meet, new friends, new teachers and new
education system. Online class, isa po ako sa mga student na nakasurvive sa online class na may
natutunan, na baon ko ngayon.

In this time of pandemic, we are sailing in the same ocean but not with the same transportation. Some
people, are in big cruise ships, while other are on boats. Iba iba tayo ng kalagayan sa pandemya pero
aminado tayong lahat tayo nag aadjust at nag rerecover sa sitwasyon.

"Smooth seas never made a skillful sailor"

'Wag nating maging hadlang yung distance para maging different yung experience natin no'ng face to
face classes. Gawin nating tulay yung online class para mapagpatuloy natin yung goal natin kahit
pinaglalayo tayo nag pandemya. Let's all continue to have faith in ourselves, our skills and our strengths.
Whatever makes us should not be allowed to bring us down, instead keep our heads up and be
prepared. We shall continue to sail upon the undiscovered depts. Whenever we thought of giving up,
may we be reminded that pearls don’t lie on the seashore. If you want one, you must dive for it.
