Valedictory Address
To our dean Dr. Erwin Lacanlale, our associate dean Dr. Jasper Mendoza, our teacher of virtue and
simplicity Dr. Norbina Genever Castro, 4th year advisers, teachers, parents, distinguished guests,
co-graduates, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant morning to all of you.
I don't know if this smile on my face will end the same as I start my speech because somehow part of
my heart will tell that I'm not yet ready to face my journey as a teacher and to say goodbye to what I
am yesterday as a student. I am flat-footed to step both of my feet to higher level of sacrifices as a
teacher and the good memories as a student in which in a few days or months will be reflected to our
future students. I know most of us were destined to be a teacher but this blood flowing on our veins,
there are still atoms that makes us as a students.
A college students in Tarlac State University, where Lucinda campus as their nest will never forget
the memories we make from shuttle to which what we called RICE building. Hustle and bustle as its
finest when lines from Citywalk going to Lucinda starts to become blockbuster line. Students who are
rushing to be first in the line, students holding their requirements as your seatmate not the students
but their big visual aids for their presentation as your seatmate inside the shuttle and the students
who makes the shuttle as their study room. We also experienced different kinds of professors. The
strict one, that if you get off of schedule in class or you missed some of its requirements, she or he
will freak out. The Too-Challenging Teacher. This type of teacher is the one who makes everything
four million times harder than it needs to be. However, it is completely worth going through the
difficulty of the class as you get extra-prepared and know the subject inside and out. And in the
college of education there are still many teachers who will understand you, considerate your
situations in life and will help you to become better version of yourself. And of course we will not
forget the 4-years straight of sleepless night. Making reports, visual aids, activities, reviewing for
exams, lesson plans and so many requirements to do will now be worth it.
Those memories through to different kinds of roads but now we met each other on the same
destination. Same destination but not the final destination because we will still have journeys to come
and roads to take. Some of it will be long, and some will be short. Some's straight and some's not.
Some's chill road and some's will be rocky. These are the kinds of road that we may take. There are
no shortcuts, you may rest but you can’t stop to take it, because we need to be tougher as we face
the reality of life. We need to persevere as we will handle soon the biggest responsibilities. Not only
as a teacher but also as a mother, father, friend, colleague and citizen. That’s why I need you to
remember that those roads will lead us to success and as long you want to continue those coming
ways you will see the paradise of your dream. And always be the one who didn’t give up on their
dream
And now it is truly a great honor for me to stand here today to speak in behalf of my fellow graduates
and I want to use this time and make this graduation as our opportunity as we all thank all the people
behind this fruitful journey of our life.
To our teachers, my sincerest gratitude for helping us to become an effective teachers, a lifelong
learners and to be our eye opener on this world full of blindness. I promise and we will promise that
all the lessons you taught to us, we will use it on the field of teaching and make our acquired skills the
best out of it.
To our long suffering and income sacrificing parents the word “thank you” is not enough but to say it
on your most awaited time in our life will be very worth hearing for. To my parents, all the parents and
people behind the success of these graduates thank you for being our heroes. A big respect and
salute to all of you
And lastly to our Almighty Creator that without his blessing and guidance, all of these will be very
impossible.
The sweet sorrow memories we make with our teachers, friends and with our family throughout this
journey will now be rewarded as we will take our steps on the stairs to this stage and now will hold
our diploma of sacrifices and perseverance. But before that my dear students and parents who can’t
now hold their sits because of excitement, allow me and share some of quotes of wisdoms to my
fellow teachers in the making as we bid farewell to each other and leave you with a quote:
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifices, and most of all it
is love of what you are doing or learning to do.”
Fellow teachers and graduates, my congratulations to you all.
