1. How old is Libby?

Since it is mentioned in Movie that she would be joining school;


therefore we assume that Libby's age is three & half between 4 yrs

2. When did she become deaf?


Libby's parents encountered libby's deafness when she was 3&half yrs.

3. How would you describe Libby's family members?

Libby's family members were too reluctant; ignorant; & posed


Conservatism thought towards Libby’s deafness.

4. Libby's mom says that their family has no history of deafness. Is


this true?

Pauls mother told Joanne that Libby's biological father's father( i.e
Libby's biological grand dad) . Therefore Libby's family do had a history
in deafness. As a result Libby's mom was lying.

5. Why doesn't Libby communicate with her family? Is it because she


is not smart?
Smartness was not a reason why Libby didn't communicate with her
family members. The reason behind Libby’s non communicative
behaviour towards her family was; Firstly They didn't had proper
medium of communicating. As Libby too was not completely mastered in
lip reading too. Secondly; Libby was not having a proper connection with
her family members. As all were busy in there own stuffs.

How does Joanne help Libby to come out of her shell?


6. Who is the only family member who notices Libby's improvement?

Joanne was able to help Libby to come out of her shell, by introducing
sign Language & providing her with utmost required attention & care
which Libby required from her family members. It was Libby’s brother
i.e Sebb who noticed Libby’s improvement.
7. What do you think is the difference between lip-reading and sign
language? Why does Libby's mom prefer lip-reading? Why does
Joanne want Libby to learn sign language?
Lip reading is a way of communication in which one's lip movement is
analysed to understand the matter. Whereas sign Language is a medium.
Of communication in which various signs are used to understand what
one needs to communicate.
Libby's mom preferred lip reading because she felt that no one would
understand the sign language. She considered it be uncommon & difficult
way of communicating.
Joanne preferred combination of sign Language & lip reading as such
combination will help Libby to get to know how to communicate & learn
her speech well.

8. Joanne makes an offer to Libby's mom. What is the offer?


Joanne offered to become libby's translator & also was ready to help the
family members in learning the basic of sign lang.

9. . What happens to Libby at the end of the movie?


At the end libby was forced to join a school ; where she was not
comfortable enough as there was no medium of communication her
becoz she had just started to learn the basics sign language; from where
her parents pulled her. Therefore at the end libby became very upset.

10.. Why did the director go for such an ending for the movie?
The director went for such an ending to showcase Because he wanted to
use his cinema to show a realistic picture of how things are for
individuals like libby. i.e special child.

11. What is the message of the movie?


At the end the message which is conveyed by this short movie is
that...deafness is not a defect to be fixed but to adapted to by the people
around so that they can live as normally as everyone. Deaf people aren't
broken they are as normal as we all are. It also conveyed the importance
of sign language.
Therefore sign language should be normalized and learnt by people as
much as possible. It makes communication with any and all kind of
individuals easier.
