How effective is the combination of the main product and ancillary tasks?

How the products link together:

My trailer links to my ancillary tasks by the storylines presented. For example,

This is an example of a storyline shown on all 3 products.

This storyline is of the ‘jack-the-lads’ and their secrets.
For instance, you can see the boys in the trailer cheering
at Helen, this storyline is followed on the Poster with the
boys standing behind Helen looking suspicious and
connoting secrecy with their expressions. Whereas on
the magazine the boys are still present but the storyline
is narrowed down with the tagline and just 2 boys
connoting their relationship hides secrets.

The storyline of Stephanie and Richard having

relationship issues is present on the magazine and in the
trailer as she slaps him in the trailer and he is looking
away on the magazine. Both these products therefore
display their relationship of troublesome indicated by the
tagline on the magazine.
This is one of the main storylines carried through all
three products. It is based around Helen and her family.
On the trailer Helen is centre shot with her children
following her, then on the magazine she is stood with
them and on the poster it is her and her son stood
looking at the camera. The taglines on the poster and
magazine link together as they both have connotations to
moving in and starting afresh which would intrigue the
reader to watch the soap.

The poster and trailer link together well through the use
of the setting being present on both tasks, to complete a
comparison in the magazine too I could have used an
image of a house of village to display the setting and
making the reader able to relate to the conventional
setting.

This storyline of the teen pregnancy is present on the magazine and poster
as it is quite a key selling point because it has mystery behind it. For
instance, on the magazine it is the lead story with the main tagline which
draws the reader’s attention to it. Also, in consideration of the target
audience the colour pink would immediately attract a female audience
because they know a feminine story has the connotations of pink and will
denote to a pink tagline. Therefore, this compares to my main task too
where the main character is a female attracting female attention through
jealousy and awe.
This is a clear link between my poster and trailer as I used
exactly the same picture for both tasks. I did this so the
viewer can see clear comparisons and recognize the soap
from this image. It is a good image to use because it has a
clear view of the setting and characters in the soap.

This is a small link between my trailer and poster as the

road sign is present on both these products. This is so the
audience can see that Helen How is the name of the soap
and the road name. Also another link is that the sign is
both present on the products with the important details
with it. There by having this twice the audience will
recognize the details and watch the soap. Also, I included
the road sign on my magazine so that the reader could
draw the comparisons to the setting of the poster and
trailer.

Both my magazine and my trailer had a varied colour

scheme, this links them together as they both had a
vibrant bright feel to them making them stand out and
make them interesting. Whereas the poster was black
connoting mystery which had a more sinister feel.
