I. GOALS2
4. Teach students case analysis — how to dissect a case, breaking it down into
discrete components (facts, issue, precedent, rule, application) in order to
discern what the court is actually doing;
5. Hone students’ ability to distinguish between facts that are pivotal to the
outcome of a case and facts that are irrelevant;
7. Give students practical tips on how cases are actually litigated in the real
world;
10. Give students an appreciation of the policies upon which the rules are
grounded;
12. Help students to see the race or gender implications in the rules and cases.
