Halos mahawi sa isang iglap ang mga tao sa lobby ng Montecillo Group of Companies
ng dumating ako.
Tunog pa lang ng takong ko, alam ko na alam na nila ang gagawin kapag ako na ang
naglalakad papasok ng
building na ito. Ayaw ko na mga hahara-hara na empleyado sa daraanan ko dahil
tinatanggal ko ang sino
mang nagkalat.
Wearing my loose V-neck versace blouse tucked in my high pencil cut skirt, my
Alexander Wang bag and
Prada shades, I entered my personal elevator.
I am the acting CEO for almost a year now, since the day that my dad was confine at
the hospital but sadly
passed away a month ago. It was my most darkest moment, but life has to move on. I
have to continue the
empire that my father built. I have a company to run and thousands of people to
manage.
Walking at the lobby to my office I saw my personal secretary balancing a bunch of

I'm closing my office door when I heard a crash. I rolled my eyes, panigurado

I seated my self at my swivel chair and check my computer for my emails. Then my
nerd secretary entered
with my coffee from a well known coffee shop and place it at my table. He cited my
schedules for me like he
always do.
"You have a meeting at 10am with the investor in the Agaro Deal for the cost and
duration of
constructions. Also at 1pm with clients of the proposed condo plan and at 3pm with
a certain Atty.
Caliente with regards to Mr. Montecillo's reading of will and testament. I also
called your mom for that
said meeting. Anything you want me to do Ma'am?"

I waved my hand as my sign of dismissing him. I dont usually talk to him. I have
this awkward feeling
everytime we are at close proximity and I dont know why. He then walk out without
another word.
After my meeting with the investors I called my secretary using my intercom. I

usually communicate with him
at the intercom machine.

" Clyde, buy me some food at my favorite resto, same menu." I said not even waiting
for his response. I
know he's there. He always waits up for my instruction at lunchtime before he eats
himself.
Within 15 minutes he already brought my food at my table. I dont usually look up to
see him. Sometimes we
work together but I rarely look at him at all.
" Anything else ma'am?" He asked again and I waved my hand dismissing him again.
Now that I am the CEO of this company, I planned on transferring my secretary. I
want to eliminate that
awkward feeling of having a guy for a secretary even if he's reliable enough.
At three in the afternoon, Clyde called announcing that my mom has arrived. I told
him to let her in. My mom
at the age of 62 is still looking beautiful and elegant, she has this kind and soft
aura that contrast my hard and
unfeeling aura. I take after my dad. Although she seems devastated when dad got
sick, she still looks so
beautiful.
" Sweety! How's work?" She asked as she gave me a peck on the cheek.
" Always stressful. Too bad you only have one child to take this all in" I joked at
her, lately I tried
everything to make her smile. I miss her smiling face.

Hindi ko alam bakit pero pakiramdam ko ay napahiya at nainsulto ang pagkatao ko sa
tahasan nyang
pagtanggi. Para na ring sinabi nitong di ako katanggap tanggap para sa kanya.
Kapal naman ng mukha nito para tumanggi, as if naman match kami at good catch sya!

I restraint myself from the curses that is at the tip of my tongue directed at the
arrogant secretary. I dont want
to look affected by his blunt refusal.
I looked at Dad's lawyer, he looked serious and unaffected by my outburst. It's as
if he expected something
like this will happen.
" Is there anyway around this condition Attorney Caliente that we dont have to
involve marriage?"
Gigil na tanong ko na na pilit pinapakalma ang sarili.
" I'm sorry Ms. Montecillo but the late Mr. Montecillo made sure that its marriage
or nothing at all and
two weeks is the only time he alloted before he asked me to arrange the selling of

The day goes on na parang walang nangyaring komprontasyon. And days followed na

He would still do his routine and read my schedules for me but he disntant himself
more. His greetings in the
morning became more robotic and loose it's warming tone. He only talks if I ask him
details about our
meetings but besides that, he never asked me if I need anything or if I have some
errands for him. He acts as
if he wanted to stay away from me like I have some kind of infectious disease and
it somehow angered me
more but I cant do anything about it. I need to convice him to agree to my father's
request. I need him to marry
me for the continuance of this company. I need him for my future career and this
company as well.

On the seventh day ay di ko na talaga matiis, I am desperate. One week na lang ang
palugit ko at di pa rin
natitinag si Clyde sa pagtanggi nya. Mukhang wala talaga itong interest sa
condition ni Daddy.
I called him at the intercom and told him to set up a 6pm dinner reservation at a
fancy restaurant and I ask for
his presence there. Kailangan ko na talaga sya mapapayag. Desperada na ako. I dont
want to lose the
company me and my father worked hard for, my father's sweat and blood. This company
has become my life
too. And this is the only legacy my father paased on me that I want to keep. I dont
want to lose it.
Nakaupo na kami sa pinareserved nyang seat pero hindi ko pa din masimulang kausapin
sya. I ordered food
for us. He looked troubled and when the food arrived I just told him to eat.
We just finished eating and he looks at me funny. I am trying to think of how to
open up the topic of marriage

straight pointed nose. Clean cut ang buhok nito pero napaka nerdy tignan dahil sa
sleek na pagkakabanat nito
sa buhok nya na akala mo'y natapunan ng sandamakmak na gel. Halata pa rin ang
pagkamaskulado ng katawan
ng lalaki kahit na laging nakasuot ito ng polo na maluwag na may pagka baduy ang
kulay.
Really? Who would wear a brown with stripes polo?! Ewww...

Pero kahit na baduy at lagi itong may suot na eyeglasses ay malakas ang dating ng
lalaki. Gwapo kasi pala
talaga sya pero ngayon ko lang talaga sya natitigang mabuti. Nakatitig din sa akin
si Clyde at animoy
inoobserbahan din ako. Kumurap ako para lang muling maibalik ang pag iisip ko sa
sitwasyon kung bakit
kami narito. I determinely looked at him again.
" Clyde if I pay your service would you do it? I'll pay you six million for the
three years of marriag e."
Aniko sa kanya ,titig na titig pa din ako sa kanya at kitang kita ko ang pagbabago
ng mukha nito mula sa
maamo at mahinahon ay naging animoy nainsulto at nagtitimpi ng galit.
" I'm not for sale Ms. Montecillo, wag nyong insultuhin ang pagkatao ko." Madiing
sabi nito at muli
akong natulala sa kanya.

" No, no it's not like that Clyde..." tarantang bawi ko. Now he thinks I'm
offending him.
"I'm not buying you, all I'm saying is... can you consider being married to me for
three years as a well
paid job? And I'm paying two million a year for your service?" I persuasively said
and I heard him
chuckled then he looked pissed off again. His eyes says it all as he look at me
straight.
" That's the same thing Ms. Montecillo! I'm sorry but if there is nothing else, I
have to leave you. I
need to be home early. Goodnignt Ma'am." anito habang tumatayo at tumalikod na sya
na walang lingon
likod na lumabas ng restaurant. Naiwan akong tulala at nakasunod lang ang mata
hanggang sa mawala sya sa
paningin ko. Nagngingitngit ang kalooban kong nag iwan ng cash at nagmartsa palabas
ng restaurant papunta
sa kotse ko. Malakas na sumigaw ako sa sobrang inis ng makapasok na ako sa loob ng
kotse ko.

Its been one week and six days and still wala pa rin akong matinong solusyon sa
problema ko. Hindi na
pumasok si Clyde simula ng alukin ko sya ng pera. I have as requested a woman
secretary na puro
kapalpakan naman ang ginagawa. Then I realized Clyde made my work much more easier
and now I felt
stressed with work and also the thought that I can loose this company.
I dont know what else to do kaya namalayan ko na lang na tinatanong ko sa HR
department ang address ni
Clyde at ngayon nga ay nasa tapat na ako ng bahay nila. It wasnt small like I
expected. Katamtaman lang iyon
at may nakaparada rin kotse sa garage. I knocked at the door but no one is
answering. Paalis na ako na
nanlulumo ng mapansin ang isang dalaga sa tabi ko. Nang mapalingon ako sa kanya ay
nginitian nya ako ng
ubod tamis, may hawig sila ni Cylde.
" Hi! Nawawala ka ba miss?" Masayahing tanong nito. I smiled back at her and a
little hope creep in my
hopelessness.

Nasabi ko na
lang at nakita ko syang tumalima at binuksan ang cabinet nya. Humugot sya doon at

ko yon at pumasok na sa banyo para maligo.
Nagpapatuyo na lang ako ng buhok sa tapat ng electric fan habang naliligo naman si
Clyde. Nagmamadali ako
sa pagkilos, agad din akong nahiga at nagpaantok para maiwasan ang ano mang naiisip
ni Clyde na gawin.

patalikod sa akin.
Feeling mo kasi gagapangin ka na agad?!
Pagalit na sigaw ng isip ko sa akin. Assumera pala ang labas ko.

Hindi rin naka gel ang buhok nya kaya magulo at napakalambot tignan niyon sa ulo

sa kanya. Tinalikuran na nya ako at nauna ng lumabas ng kwarto.

how weak she is.
" Manager Alex, let the girl have her job, but I dont want to see her face again.

again." Nasabi ko na lang at iniwan silang lahat doon.
Hindi ko maintindihan ang sarili ko bakit habang bumubulong sa akin si Clyde ay
grabe ang itinatambol ng
puso ko. Kakaiba ang hatid ng mabangong hininga nya na dumadampi sa leeg, tenga at
pisngi ko. Hindi ko
alam anong nangyayari pero nanginginig ang tuhod ko pag ganon na sya kalapit.
Agad akong pumasok sa opisina ko at mabilis na naupo sa swivel chair ko.

Hindi ko pa napapakalma ang puso ko ng pumasok syang muli at dala ang kape ko.

He burst inside my office in his brooding look. Titig na titig sya sa akin at may
nasisilip akong galit sa mata

" What is it?!" Inis ako agad makita ko lang ang mukha nya.
" May dinner meeting ka pala kay Mr. Alcantara? Bakit di dumaan sa akin yun? Kung
di pa tumawag
ang secretary nya to confirm ay di ko malalaman yon?" Mapang akusa nitong sabi
" We set it yesterday. We just wanted to catch up!" Naiinis pa din na sagot ko sa
kanya.

Mas pinalalim pa ni Clyde ang halik na iyon hanggang sa ramdam ko na din ang pag
iinit ng sarili kong
katawan, naramdaman ko ang pagtaas baba ng kamay ni Clyde sa hita kong exposed sa
maikli at malambot
kong shorts. Ang isang kamay naman nya ay nagsisimula ng itaas ng laylayan ng t-
shirt ko ng biglang may
kumatok sa aming pinto. Napatigil ang dalawang kamay nito sa paggalaw. Tumigil sya
at iniangat nya ng
bahagya ang mukha nya. Nagkatitigan kaming muli. Bababa nanaman ang ulo ni Clyde ng
may kumatok uli na
nagpatigil muli sa paghalik nito. Lumayo na ito at tumayo, nakita ko pang
napahilamos ito ng mukha sa
pagkabitin.
Tinungo nito ang pinto samantalang ako naman ay hinatak ang kumot para itago ang
katawan ko, kahit hindi
ako hubad pakiramdam ko ay nahubaran na ako ng kamay ni Clyde na ramdam ko pa din
ang init sa balat ko.
" Althea, anong kailangan mo?" Tanong nito sa kapatid

sa kapatid pero
pinagbagsakan na sya ng pinto ng huli.
Pininid na muli ni Clyde ang pinto, mukhang nalungkot ito sa tinuran ng kapatid.
I felt guilty.
Tama si Althea. Totoo namang ginagamit ko lang si Clyde para mapasa akin ang
kompanya.
" I'm sorry, bata pa kasi si Althea, hindi pa nya masyadong iniisip ang sinasabi
nya." Ani Clyde habang
nakatitig sa akin
" It's alright, somehow she's right. I'm using you and I havent given you a day's
off. Puntahan mo yung
sinasabi ng sister mo, para na rin hindi na sya magtampo. I can get by at the
office for a day without
you." Ani ko sabay ngiti sa kanya, nakita ko ang pagkatulala nya sa akin at maya
maya lang ay gumanti na din
sya ng ngiti.

Ramdam ko ang biglang pagbabago ng ihip ng hangin sa aming dalawa kaya tinakasan ko
ang kakaibang
tensyon sa amin.

at talikod dito.
Ramdam ko ang paghiga din ni Clyde sa tabi ko at bumulong sa tenga ko.

It was the day that Clyde had his vacation leave to be with his sister. I asked
Aria, my second secretary, to
call Howard and set up a meeting with him at lunchtime so we could catch up. We met
at some fancy
restaurant.
" So Bree, are you even gonna tell me how you end up married to tito Edgar's
secretary" Howard said
and I roll my eyes on him.
" When did you become so nosy Ward?" I said and smiled at him
" Just curious. Would Tito Edgar approve of this if he's here?" Anito sa akin,
nagpalungkot bigla ang

I came home late than usual, I just cant seem to face him after what happened

Dumaan na lang ako sa coffeeshop to buy my coffee and cinnamon bread. Nagulat at
nagpulasan pa ang mga
tao sa lobby ng dumating ako ng maaga. Tiyak na nagbubulungan kung bakit ang aga ko
at kung bakit mag isa
lang ako ngayon. I ignored all their morning greetings and went straight to my
personal elevator.
I was answering emails ng biglang bumukas ang pinto ko. I know right away sino ang
pumasok. Matalas na
ata ang pakiramdam ko pagdating sa kanya. My heart starting to pound doubletime and
I felt trapped in my big
office. His smell almost suffocates me to unconciousness.

Malambing nitong
tanong sa akin habang naupo sa table ko katabi ng computer. I cleared my throat.
Nagbara ata ang lalamunan
ko ng maamoy ko ang pamilyar na amoy nya. I felt the heat that creeps my cheeks as
I remembered what we
did last night. Bigla muling rumagasa ang alaala na nagpaligalig sa akin. Umayos
ako ng upo at pinatalim ang
titig sa laptop ko.
" Clyde, cant you see I'm busy? I'll call when I'm hungry." sabi ko ng di man lang
sya tinatapunan ng
tingin. Ramdam ko ang mas lalong pag init ng pisngi ko habang pilit pinapakalma ko
ang pagtibok ng sobra ng
puso ko.
"I see. Ah... nahihiya ka ba dahil nag.... dahil sa nangyari kagabi? Namilog ang
mata ko sa tanong nya
pero hindi ko pa rin sya tinignan. Pinanatili ko sa laptop ang tingin ko.
" Can we not talk about that? We are at the office afterall.." I used my irritated
tone at him just to hide
my embarrasement. Rinig ko ang pagbuntong hiniga nito.
Nagulat pa ako ng biglang umikot ang swivel chair ko paharap kay Clyde, inikot na
pala nya yun gamit ang

isang kamay nya sa handle, pagka ikot ay ipinatong din nya ang isa pa nyang kamay
sa kabilang handle.
Nakayuko na sya sa akin at lapit na lapit na ang mukha nya sa mukha ko. Tumitig sya
sa naglalakihan kong
mga mata.
" Wifey, I dont like it when you ignore me, look at me when I'm talking to you. I
also dont like it when
you leave me after we made love. Now be a good wife and kiss your hubby so I can
start my day right."
Anas nito at mas lumapit ang mukha sa akin. Napapikit na lang ako at naakit sa
mapaghanap nitong halik sa
akin. We exchange hot kisses. That turn to hungry kisses which made my inside churn
and my knees so weak.
Naghiwalay lang kami ng hingalin kami.
Umungol si Clyde na animoy nahihirapan.
"Pag ganito pala mas mahihirapan ako magtrabaho. Ikaw lang maiisip ko." Anito at
ngumiti sa akin,
namula ang pisngi ko sa sinabi nya at napangiti na din sa kalandian ng lalaki.
" Go back to work." Dahil pag hindi ka pa umalis baka hindi ko na din mapigil ang
sarili ko.
" Alright wifey, I have to go." Anito at kinintalan muli ako ng mabilis na halik sa
labi bago tuluyan ng
lumabas ng opisina ko.

We are on our way home when I took a quick glance at Clyde. He is wearing the blue
polo that we bought. I
admit, he looked good in it. If he will just lose his eyeglasses and stop putting
gel in his hair, he would look
so much better but I stopped myself from pointing that out.
I know once he learn to stop geling his hair and stop using his eyeglasses I know

After a lot of thinking I realized I care for Clyde. I know I am starting to like

I am craving for a much needed relaxation too. Our workload is so damn stressful.
" How about we go to Boracay or Palawan?" Nakangiting ani Clyde.

sinulyapan ako,
ginantihan ko na din sya ng ngiti.
Why am I strating to feel happy and content with Clyde by my side? I should stop
this before I get
accustomed to his presence! But I really like him beside me... all the time... I am
really in deep trouble!

We are on our way to Batangas even before the sun rose. Clyde is the designated
driver while I am at the
backseat with Althea who is busy pretending I am invisible. I tried to talk to her
but all she did is shrugged
her shoulders like she doesnt give a damn about me. I sighed in defeat at her
stubborness, I know she hates
me and I dont know how to change her mind.
We are almost near when I heard my phone rang. I check who it is and I smile seeing
its Howard. I answered
it right away.
" Hey stranger!" Aniko. I saw Clyde took a peek at me at the rearview mirror.
" It's Howard." Aniko kay Clyde na tumango lang sa akin.
( Hey, Are you home? I got some papers that needs your signature.) ani Howard from
the other line.

" Oh, We are actually on our way to lolo's resthouse in Batangas. Can that wait?"

bintana ko.
Sa wakas ay nakarating din kami sa resthouse. Sinalubong kami ni Nana Pita na
tuwang tuwa sa pagdating ko.
" Senyorita, maligayang pagdating! Akala ko ho at binibiro lang ako ni Tino ng
sabihing kayo ay
tumawag at nagsabing dadalaw!" Tuwang tuwa na sabi ng caretaker ng resthouse.

alalaga dito sa resthouse." Mabilis na pakilala ko. Kita ko ang pagbilog ng mata ni
Nana Pita na nagpabalik
balik ang tingin sa amin ni Clyde.
" Asawa? Nag asawa na ho kayo senyorita?" Nagtatakang anito habang sinisipat naman
si Clyde.
Naptango lang ako sa matanda.
" Magandang umaga ho." Magalang na ani Clyde sabay ngiti kay Nana Pita. Nahihiyang
ngumiti naman si
Nana Pita kay Clyde.

namayapang lolo ko na
ngayon ay kinatitirikan ng resthouse.
" Ang ganda dito." Manghang bulalas ni Althea habang nasa balkonahe na kami at
nakatingin sya sa puting
puting buhangin at asul na karagatan.
" Yeah. This is my grandpa's hideout. I had spent my every summer vacation here.
Its quite peaceful
right?" Aniko. Nagkatinginan kami at nginitian ko sya. She didnt answer nor return
my smile but she didnt
snob me either. That's a good start. Atleast she's not giving me that vile look
again.
Clyde carried our bags and put it inside the rooms. Nakikipag agawan pa ito kay
Tata Tino na gustong
makibuhat.
I have to admit I carried a lot of stuff coming in here. I bought my laptop and
some paperworks bukod pa sa

ibang gadgets ko na ginagamit din sa trabaho. I even brought with me my portable
printer. Its the cons of
being the CEO of a company. Everyday is workday even in restdays.

hipon pa din ba ang paborito nyo?" Ani Tata Tino na nahihiyang ngumiti sa amin.
" Natatandaan nyo pa po pala Tata Tino." Masayang sagot ko na ikinangiti lang ng
matandang lalaki.
Nagulat pa ako ng ipagsandok ako ng kanin ni Clyde. Nahihiyang nginitian ko sya na
ginantihan din nya ng
ngiti. Nag umpisa na akong humigop ng sabaw ng biglang lagyan ni Clyde ng himay na
hipon ang plato ko.
Nagtataka akong nag angat ng tingin sa kanya. Ngumiti lang syang muli sa akin kaya
nahihiyang nagbaba na
lang ako ng tingin at pinagpatuloy ang pagkain ko.
Damn! Why am I starting to act like a shy virgin around him all of a sudden!
Di sinasadyang napatingin ako kay Althea na titig na titig na pala sa amin. I gave
her a timid smile and in my
surprise she nodded at me then look away.

We change into our swimming outfits. We swam and get ourselves some tan. Clyde is
currently cooking
barbeque with Tata Tino and I cant helped but ogled Clyde's body. He is just
wearing his board shorts as I
let my eyes travel to his broad muscular shoulders and lean six pack abs. I watch
how the muscles in his
arms move while he is seriously flipping barbeques on the grill. He is still
wearing his eyeglasses that makes
him look nerdy but his hair is gel-free and curling in his head in a soft mound. He
looked so damn handsome
that I felt myself drool at the sight of him. Then I saw him unconsciously bite his
lips and my thoughts wander
to the taste of his lips, how hard and expertly he kisses me, how those lips
pleasure me to heights. I was
awakened in my almost dirty thoughts with a nudge at my side. I looked at Althea
who is intently looking at
me.
" Baka naman matunaw na ang kuya ko sa kakatitig mo?" Mataray na anito na ikinapula
ng pisngi ko.
Itinago ko ang nararamdaman ko sa pamamagitan ng pagtaas ng kilay sa dalaga.
" I dont know what you mean." Mataray na sagot ko na ikinairap naman ni Althea

really loves his big brother.

Althea na ikinagulat ko. I never thought that she will ever feel like that to me. I

smiled at me too. As
genuine as his brother's.
They are indeed such genuine people.
After we eat Clyde seems flirting when he pulled me in one of the ratan swings
under the shadow of the trees.
He lie down and pull me with him. I let him enveloped me in his embraced. Halos
nakadagan na din ako sa
kanya kaya naiilang na pilit kong tumatayo pero muli lang nya ako hinatak pabagsak
sa katawan nya.
" Wifey, stay close. I want you to always stay close to me." Bulong nya sa tenga ko
na nagpakiliti sa akin.
He embrace me once again and I cant help but yelp when he nuzzled my sensitive
earlobes. Natatawa at
nakikiliting pilit kong inilalayo ang mukha nya pero ang kulit lang ni Clyde at mas
kiniliti pa ako.
" Hay... ang lalandi nyo! Sana lang wag kayong babaan ng mga langgam sa puno ng
buko na yan sa
sobrang tamis nyo!" Ani Althea habang nauupo sa kabilang ratan swing. Ang tinutukoy
nito ay ang coconut
tree kung saan nakatali ang ratan swing namin.
Napatigil kami at nagkatinginan ni Clyde at sabay pa kaming nagtawa sa sinabi ni
Althea.

Napatigil lang kami ng biglang may tumawag sa akin. I saw Howard in his board
shorts and sando. He is
running towards us. I took a swift glance at Althea and saw her stiffened at the
sight of the newcomer. Her

Clyde's guard is up and he
is throwing dagger look at Howard. Since the day that I admitted I had a crush on
Howard, Clyde seems to
abhor Howard's presence. I blew a deep breath at their silent war.
" Howard, I'll read the file later, so everybody! let's just enjoy the day okay?

We are at directors & operations management meeting when my daddy's friend,
Miguelito Argueles also the
company's COO, asked me a personal question I didnt see coming and worst, in front
of all my people.
"Is it really true that you are already married Bree? And to your personal
secretary ! ?" Nagulat ako
sa tanong nya, nakita kong tinignan ako ng board of directors and some operations
managers. Gulat ang mga
mukha nila at ang iba ay mapag akusa. May isturang naawa pa sa akin at ang iba ay
mapang uyam.
I looked at Tito Miguel and saw a smirk that he is trying hard to hide. I gathered
that he is attacking me and
trying to discredit me in front of all my people. I never thought that he will be
this bold.
The question left me offguard. I know what they are thinking.
Fvcking work etiquette!
Clyde as well as me will be on the hot seat. But it will affect Clyde more than me.
It will ruin him. He will
lose his job and no one will hire a demoralized employee.

"I think the board of investors, as well as some of us here, are questioning your
credibility on the
position, that 'rumors' can really affect your standing as the CEO." Sagot ni tito
Miguel na nagpa init ng
ulo ko. I was fuming mad at his atrocities. The gall of this old man to question my
credibility is beyond me. I
shoot him my dangerous look and smack my hand flat hard on the conference table
creating a deafening
sound. Some flinched from it, some eyed me with shocked and some smile at my
fierceness.
" Well tell that board to look into my company treadlines standing not my personal
stuff, and if they
find a downard flow then get back to me. Anyone here who wants to question my
affairs further?"

share from this
company and give me your resignation. I will gladly sign out everything. This
meeting is over. Get back
to your work." Madiin na sabi ko at nagderederetso na ako palabas. Galit na galit
ako sa mga sinabi ni tito
Miguel, I thought he's daddys friend, I didnt know he's here to discredit and bring
me down.
The nerve of tito Miguel to shame me in front of my people! Preposterous! I can
easily dissolve his share
of the company if I wanted to.
Bawat hakbang ko palayo sa conference meeting ay mas nadadagdagan ang galit ko sa
mga naganap. Malakas
na sinarado ko ang pinto ng opisina ko at pabalang na naupo sa swivel chair.
I closed my eyes and twirl my chair left and right trying to inhale as much air as
I can to calm myself. I need
to breath out all my anger.

may kakaibang galit sa
mata nya na ikinaalarma ko.
" Are you really going to deny me Bree? Do you think low of me because I'm just a
secretary? Am I
not worthy of you?" Anito na unti unting tumagos sa puso ko. I felt my temper
dissipating. And everything is
turning into a whilpool of different emotions.
I looked at his hurt expression and I felt guilty and it renders me speechless.
Iyon ang inisip ko talaga sa kanya noon. Sapol na sapol nya lahat ng pang uuyam ko
sa kanya.
No Clyde. I'm the one who is not worthy of you!

truth." Napang uyam

"Pinipilit nyong pabanguhin ang pangalan nyong sa palagay nyo ay nayurakan dahil

isang mahirap! Pilit nyong tinatago ang lihim nyo ng kapangyarihan at pera! You
rich people are so
good in denial and lying that everything you said almost sounds like the truth. You
can make people
around you believe in eveything you say. No one can see the difference and no one
cares for the
truth." He said with so much conviction that it left me dumbfounded.
Where is all this intense rage coming from?!
"I think I had enough of this Bree, you can have my name for the last three years.
File an annulment
after that, I dont care. Go back to your pretentious world. I want you out of my
life!" Anito at
tumalikod na sya, naguluhan ako sa mga sinabi nya pero isa lang ang sigurado ko,
nakikipaghiwalay na sya.
All along it was my plan to be rid of him and now that he is, it left me empty and
confuse and my heart started
to ache. I know it will never be the same.

I can feel Clyde's hatred with every words he throws at me. I slump on my seat and

Its our house warming
dinner party at our newly bought mansion. We were laughing so hard at Clyde's old
photos where as he is in
suspenders and bow tie. Althea is teasing his brother by showing us the photos and
we cant help but make fun

plastered on his face. I moved

Nakakapanghinayang din na hindi ako

Excited akong bumalik sa entertainment room. Pagbukas ko pa lang ng pinto ay

sa aking malamlam na ilaw. Nanlaki ang mata ko ng makita ang room na punong puno ng

Napangiti ako at muling lumakad palapit kay Clyde na malapad din ang ngiti sa akin.
At ng magkatapat na kami ay biglang lumuhod si Clyde na ikinalaki ng mata ko at
napatakip na lang ako ng
kamay sa aking bibig sa gulat. Narinig ko pa ang tili ni Aria at Althea sa
background. Inilahad ni Clyde sa
akin ang isang diamond ring na sa sobrang laki palagay ko ay masasakop na ang ring
finger ko.
" Hon, will you marry me again? And this time, there is no contract, no conditions
and no doubts. I love
you so much Hon and I want you by my side for the rest of my life." Ani Clyde
habang naluluhang
tinititigan ko sya. Natutulala ako sa mga sinabi nya at ng medyo matagalan ay

Six years ago....
I saw the most beautiful looking girl walked past me and into Mr. Edgar
Montecillo's office. Although I'm
working for years here, this is the first time I saw her. She is wearing a striped
loose longsleeved blouse and
a brown skirt that show her long shapely legs with a pair of brown ankle boots. I
halted her from going
inside, feeling a little bit nervous and hyped to be near her.
" Miss, do you have an appointment?" Sabi ko at hinarang ang katawan ko sa pinto.
Matangkad ang dalaga
pero mas matangkad ako sa kanya.
" Dont you know who I am, you moron!?" Mayabang nitong sagot at tinggal ang shades
nito. I look at her
beautiful face, mas maganda pala sya pag walang nakatakip sa mata nya. I was

" Good afternoon Sir." Magalang na bati ko
" Daddy, fire this guy! I dont like him!" Sabi naman ng dalaga
" Bree, baby, meet my secretary, Clyde Santillan, he's my right hand, baby, I cant
lose him at this
hectic time." Anito sa anak na halatang pigil ang ngiti.
" Clyde, meet my daughter Bree, she's a handful I guess." Anito sabay tawa nito na
ikinahawa ko din at
natawa din ako.

naman ni Mr. Montecillo na lalong ikinainis ni Bree at nag walk out ito.
Sinundan ko ng tingin ang pag alis nya, may paghihinayang din na agad syang nawala
sa paningin ko.
Napabuntong hininga ako, nadala na din ata ng babae ang puso ko. Napatingin ako kay
Mr. Montecillo at
nahiya, kanina pa pala ito nakatitig sa akin. He smiled at me and I smiled back.
Namula ako sa pagkakahuli
nya sa akin, panigurado kita sa mukha ko ang paghanga sa anak nya.
" Dont get her wrong, she's a nice kid, but with the things she have now, she
sometimes forget to be
humble." Anito sa akin, hindi ko alam bakit nito sinasabi ang mga iyon. " You on
the other hand, is the
most humble person I know. Clyde I know who you are." Anito sa akin na nagpagulat
sa akin.
" It seems like forgiving is not your best trait, but sometimes we have to give it
to the cruelest person
we know, not because they deserve it but because we are strong enough to give it."
Makahulugang sabi
nito sa akin.
" Do you mean my biological father sir?" Matigas kong turing. Napabuo ang kamao ko
sa isipin tungkol sa
ama ko.

" Tell me son, do you love my daughter?" Dagsag tanong pa ng matanda na ikinagitla
ko. Humugot ako ng
malalim na hininga at umamin.

Aniko sa matanda

napayuko na lang ako.
" I want you for my daughter Clyde." Maya maya ay sabi nito na ikinagulat ko.
" Sir, what are you trying to say?" Naguguluhang sagot ko.
"Marry her when I pass away, grant this old man's dying request." Anito sa
seryosong tono na
nagpalaglag ng panga ko.
" Sir... sir... I... I'm sorry, I cant do it. I wont force myself on her. She has
her own heart and I dont
want her to be forced because I love her. Love doesnt always work like that. I love
her but I will be the
happiest if she's happy and if she ended up with someone else worthy enough of
her." Malungkot kong
pahayag. To a dying man like him It is hard to refuse him when my heart says grab
the opportunity but my
mind keeps me at bay.
" You are so worthy of my daughter I hope one day, she can see what I see in you.
In time, she will
Clyde. I can see curiousity in her eyes whenever she looks at you. In time, you
will see. You both will

Three years ago...
I'm working for almost a year now as Ms. Montecillo's secretary. Although at first
I have to adjust with her
snobbish attitude towards me, I get used to it. She would give me some vile look
every now and then, but I
just shrugged it off. She hates me and she doesnt like my presence, I understand
that. She abhors my nerdy
look. I admit I dont really give a shit with my clothes. I wear whatever is cheap
enough. I wear reading
glasses because of my poor eyesight that I had eversince I was in college, maybe
the result of my habit of
reading books in the dark with only a lamp on. Since my hair always looks unruly
and falls down on my face,
I put as much gel as I could to keep it in place. I have no time to even have a
haircut with my heavy
workload, all thanks to my bossy boss.
I dont know why but every damn time she snobs me it somehow made me smile. I know I
am in deepshìt
inlove with my bossy boss. I am inlove with her eversince I first saw her. But as
her secretary, I sometimes
hates her. She would asked me to do impossible task that even Einstein cant
accomplish.

hindi man lang ako
tinutunghayan at animoy iritang irita sa presensya ko.

sa desk ko.
Patay nanaman ako kay Althea. Hindi nanaman ako makakapunta sa parent's meeting sa
school.

" May kinalaman ka ba dito?"ani ng boss ko na ikinainit ng ulo ko sa pagkainsulto.
Akala ba ng babaeng ito mapagsamantala ako?! Tsk... ako nga tong matagal ng umayaw
sa kasal na yan!
" I have nothing to do with this. And I'm sorry I will never agree to marry you
even if it cost me my
job." Matapang kong sagot. Ayokong isipin nya na nagkaka interest ang gaya ko sa
kumpanya nila. Baka
akala ng boss ko nangangarap akong sa kumapanya nya. Kahit na ang katotohanan ang
dalaga lng ang
pinapangarap ko.
