Narrate a scary story and make sure:

 Don’t forget to use connectors, time
expressions or adverbs such as:
First, second, later, then, by the
time, when, while, etc.
 Check the outline of an example of a
narrative text. Your spooky story
has to have the same structure.

PAST SIMPLE PAST CONTINUOUS


USAGE: USAGE:

PAST PERFECT (HAD+ V in P.P)


We make the past perfect with had/hadn’t + past Important: Adverbs in the past perfect go between

We use the past simple to describe a series of past event in chronological order, and we use the

past perfect to make clear that one of the events happened before. Compare these two sentences:

 When I arrived, she left. (=She left after I arrived.)

 When I arrived, she had left. (She left before I arrived)
