How do pandemics such as Covid -19 impact consumer behavior?

One who is being affected by the pandemic such as COVID-19 are the consumers.
Lockdown had profound impact on how people live today. The pandemic is making the
consumer behavior more complex since there is a physical movement restriction, which is
the social distance among individuals especially in the public places. Because of the
outbreak of the virus, the restrictions become stricter. It leads them to stay longer queuing
in the supermarkets and malls because they tend to panic buying. Most consumers feel
anxious and worried so they just want to buy items through online shopping that would
be more convenient and safety. This pandemic really changed the consumer shopping
behavior like they are now buying goods, which are necessary than those luxuries.
Imagine many people lost their jobs, some people try to find ways just to survive in their
daily needs. Unlike in the pre-pandemic period, you can find part time jobs to survive but
now, it is really hard to find other ways for survival because of the thinking that we
cannot see our enemies, which is the virus. What the other consumers do right now
during pandemic in order to stay safe is by shifting to digital adoption and platforms for
day-to-day needs. As the world begins to start recovering and reopening of the
economies, the consumers are also trying slowly to be more careful by doing such
implemented safety protocols.
