Automated Voting System using Jave Netbeans IDE

The Automated Voting System using Java Netbeans IDE is intended for
the use of the school colleges. This Automated Voting System using Java
Netbeans IDE that utilizes Java will allow the students to vote on the
candidates that they want to vote. Also, the Automated Voting System using
Java Netbeans IDE is capable of detecting if the students have already voted.
The Automated Voting System using Java Netbeans IDE has several features
that are suited especially in school colleges. The Automated Voting System
source code was developed using Java programming language in Netbeans IDE,
and the database application used was XAMPP (MySQL).

The main features of the Automated Voting System available to the user are the
following:

Candidates – can register new candidates for the election.

Course – can add new course.

Party – can add new party for the group of candidates.

Position – can add new position for the candidates they running for.

User – can add user for the admin side.

View status of votes – display all the candidates with their own corresponding
vote counts.

Adds Student – can register new students to vote.

Vote for candidates – the students can login using their ID and password and
vote for their selected candidates.

The following are the software that you’ll need in order for this program to run:
1. Java Development Kit Software

2. XAMPP

PSITS Automated Voting System

The PSITS Automated Voting System was developed using PHP, HTML,

MYSQLi and Javascript. I used bootstrap as a front-end framework for the
design layout. The purposed of the system is to automate the process of voting
and maintain the quality of data processing. It reduce student time consuming
because of the fast and convenient voting time.
Features:
 Administrator-Candidate(CRUD)
 Administrator - Voters(CRUD) and also can import data using csv
files. The password for the student is auto generated.
Administrator - Canvassing Report for the result of the winning
candidate
 Administration - User(CRUD)
 Register - localhost/psits_voting/register
 Can only register voters if student not on the list of the csv files
 Voter - localhost/psits_voting/
 This is where the student vote, to vote make sure the account of the
student is active to be able to login,
 Student can only vote once!

KCC SSAO E-voting System
This system is created using Visual Basic 2008 and Microsoft Access 2007 is used
for Database support and crystal Report is the tool used for reporting. In this
system, it introduces a computerized registration form for each voter through
which voter details, including name, course, year level, etc. can be entered. From
these details an algorithm will generate a unique id. This registration system will
retain a single database table for all the students of the Kabankalan Catholic
College. The officer of SSAO that is in-charge of the voting activity will collect the
details from the registrar office.
And here are some features of these systems:
 Can register new students as voters
 The voter can vote only once in every election per school year
 The admin can open or start the voting of candidates
 Can register new candidate in every year level and in different categories
 The administrator can view the logs for those voters who did not vote as well
as the track of those who logged in the system.
 And the administrator has the control on resetting the scoring of all
candidates.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND WORKS

This chapter reviews some literature and works related to the proposed study.

Related Studies
Computer and internet have made effective learning environment. In the
last two decades, the Electronic Voting System has been practicing widely and
improving. The Voting System was originally introduced in 1986 (later in 1974).
Only the United Kingdom and Switzerland have reached the step of developing
an Internet voting application. However Estonia, the first country in the world,
fully covered Internet voting including mobile voting. The legal framework for
e-voting technologies should ensure adequate protection of human rights. In
particular, special consideration should be given within legal framework
impact.

AVS in Educational Institutions

AVS provide essential advantages to any educational institutions in

general and instructor in specific. According to Peter et al. (2004) discusses a
secure based system for e-voting that was developed. They tested the
application several institutions aspects, and usability in fourteen field trials. In
their paper they describe the method and findings. What they learn about
turnout, about the logistics of organizing e-voting and about usability and
reliability of the system in practice.

Status of AVS Nowadays

Electronic voting (also known as e-voting) is voting that uses electronic

means to either aid or take care of casting and counting votes. Depending on
the particular implementation, e-voting may use standalone.

Electronic voting machines (also called EVM) or computers connected to

the internet. It may encompass a range of Internet services, from basic
transmission of tabulated results to full function online voting through
common connectable household devices. The degree of automation may be
limited to marking a paper ballot, or may be a comprehensive system of vote
input, vote recording, data encryption and transmission to servers and
consolidation and tabulation of election results.

A worthy AVS must perform most of these tasks while complying with set
of standard established by regulatory bodies, and must also be capable to deal
successfully with strong requirements associated with security, accuracy,
integrity, swiftness, privacy, accessibility, cost-effectiveness, scalability and
sustainability.

Taban Habibu (2017) The Public opinion and democratic in universities

setting are the most important determinant to establish a good administration.
Voting is the process through which individuals convey their opinion and has
the freedom to elect a leader of the choice to signify and address the student’s
issues. In today’s technological and knowledge age, computerized related
matters become widespread.
