Program and 3x3s

The meeting program was a tribute to activities over the summer at

Legacies III, Ghost Ranch and IAMPETH. Angie Vangalis shared “The
Properties of Watercolor” video produced by Royal Talens (a Legacies
III sponsor) featuring demonstrations by Jeffrey Olson. Cindy Haller
shared her IAMPETH experience and walked through creation of a
four-panel piece from The Painted Word workshop at Ghost Ranch.
Judy Johannesen and Deanna Fava Bural displayed materials from their
Legacies workshops. Legacies bandannas were available for purchase
through Angie.
Sharon Schmidt
Mary DeChellis reported on 3x3s. Participants shared their creations for
Ink, Ice, Jumble and Journal. The word for October is “Knot.”

Announcements

The group recognized Angela Vangalis and the excellent Legacies III
experience. Angie reported that on October 26, Legacies is sponsoring
a free event to showcase multiple calligraphers, each doing a project.
Save the date.

Thanks to Trudie Simoson for bringing her handmade books to share

with the in-person group … and to Jeri Wright for sharing the Kaligrafos
perpetual calendar.

Door prizes were donated by Jeri Wright and won by Angie Vangalis and
Judy Johannesen.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:17pm. Judy Johannesen

Calligraphy Study Group Fort Worth Calligraphers Guild has a study group which
meets every Tuesday from 1–4pm via Zoom. Angie will send a link between noon and 1 pm that day. Bring
whatever calligraphy-related project you want to work on. We invite anyone to join us. Contact Judy
(judith.johannesen@gmail.com) or Angie (angie@txlac.org) to get your name added to the list.

To make it easy for us all and to get the most work accomplished, we chat for 15 minutes every hour on
the hour. Then we mute ourselves and work in silence for 45 minutes. (We try to stick to that schedule so
if you cannot come for the whole time, you know when we are chatting and when we are working.) Then in
the next discussion we give feedback, praise or suggestions if asked. It’s a good learning environment.

If 2 or 3 people need to have a private conversation or collaborate during the 45 minute work period, we
can put you in a break room separate from the group to maximize the work time and minimize distraction.
