Lastly to set the tone of the session, we looked at the various aspects of soft skills, their importance. Sir talked about his professional background, and we also also had a glimpse of his lovely family. Then concerns like employability across various functions were discussed resulting in a large gap. Lacking the right soft skills is a major factor causing the gap. Sir showcased a Harvard Research statistic which stated 85% of job success comes from soft skills. We looked at various stages of our lives from school to post grad but is that really making us corporate ready. Then sir spoke about the changing environment due to the current pandemic and how to adapt the new reality. Sir then emphasized on the world should know our personal brand. Only hard work is not enough, the showcasing the same is even more important. Companies want fresh perspectives and whatever leaves our table, its needs to have a touch of our own magic. Then sir spoke about how to understand ourselves through skills, personality and using our experiences to the right use. Thereafter sir highlighted the CPP Model to build our personal brands. Clarity on expertise, potential value addition to the organizations and the understand the audience to take the right approach to influence them. Then we looked at Projection – which is to articulate our brand statement. Then we looked at clarity and the various attributes of it like who are we, who do we help, what do we help them with and how do we help. Lastly sir highlighted the inherent personality traits vs the acquired ones. Throughout the session sir patiently answered all our questions and provided helpful insights and pointers to develop ourselves.
