1. What does the document want to convey?


- Explain the colonists' right to revolution. In other words, “to declare the causes which impel them
to the separation.” Congress had to prove the legitimacy of its cause. It had just defied the most
powerful nation on Earth

2. According to the document, what do the symbols in the Philippine flag represent?
- Signifying the distinctive emblem of the famous Society of the Katipunan which by means of blood
compact inspired the masses to rise in revolution; the three stars, signifying the three principal
islands of this Archipelago – Luzon, Mindanao and Panay where this revolutionary movement
started; the sun representing the gigantic steps made by the sons of the country along the path of
Progress and Civilization; the eight rays, signifying the eight provinces – Manila, Cavite, Bulacan,
Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Laguna, and Batangas – which declared themselves in a state of
war as soon as the first revolt was initiated; and the colors of Blue, Red, and White,
commemorating the flag of the United States of America

3. How did the Filipinos regard the United States of America based on the document? What is your
stand on this? Do you agree with the Filipinos the way they looked at the Americans?
- Alliance between united states of America and Philippines, for me its ok for them to have alliance
with USA so that they have good community on the country, no because the filipinos rebelled
against americans .

4. What is the importance of this document in the history of our country?


- It is important because it allows one to make more sense of the current world. One can look at past
economic and cultural trends and be able to offer reasonable predictions of what will happen next in
today's world. One can also understand why some rules exist in the modern world
