AN ACT DISSEMINATING THE HOUSEHOLD CHORES WITH EQUAL BALANCE FOR
EACH FAMILY MEMBER OF THE MARIANO HOUSE

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress


assembled:

SECTION 1. Short Title. – This Act shall be known as the “The Household Chores Act of
2020”.

SEC. 2. Declaration of Policy. – It is hereby the policy of the State to secure and safeguard
its citizenry, particularly the Mariano house and its family members, from the dreadful and
extremely careless ramifications of multiplication of bugs, the attraction of critters, the mold of
food, worsening of allergies, the possibility of getting sick, and bad well-being. Towards this end,
it shall pursue a more organized and preventive to value the safety of Mariano house, with its
family members at all times through the mandatory enforcement of the dissemination of household
chores.

SEC. 3. Definition of Terms. – For purposes of this Act, the following terms are hereby
defined as follows:

(a) Family members refer to the four persons living at the house, the mother and three sons.

(b) Household chores refer to tasks such as cooking, cleaning, watering, washing, and
feeding that have to be done regularly at home.
(c) Mariano house refers to the building for human habitation, especially one that is lived
in by the family.

(d) Rotational refers to the inclusion of all family members one at a time in one chore.

(e) Solo refers to the permanent family member assigned to one chore.

(f) Specialized refers to the exclusion of all family members except for one family member
in one chore.

SEC. 4. Disseminated Household Chores of Mariano House. – All family members shall
at all times observe the imposed guidelines of household chores while living, whether on vacation
or not, as long as they live in the house.

SEC. 5. Cooking of the Foods. – It is divided into healthy foods and drinks. The schedule
of this is daily in the morning, afternoon, and night. The sole responsibility for that chore is one
(1) person from the family member. It is solo, the person is the one to do it every time.

SEC. 6. Cleaning of the House. – It is divided into bedroom 1, bedroom 2, bathroom 1,


bathroom 2, bathroom 3, kitchen and dining room, living room, garage, balcony, and attic. The
schedule of this is weekly on Sunday. The sole responsibility for that chore is four (4) persons
from the family member. It is specialized, each person is assigned to a particular part/s of the house
and they are the ones to do it every time.

SEC. 7. Watering of the Plants. – It is divided into first floor, second floor, and third floor.
The schedule of this is daily in the morning and night. The sole responsibility for that chore is one
(1) person from the family member. It is rotational, each person is assigned to this part, only it is
one day at a time.

SEC. 8. Washing of the Dishes. – It is divided into dishes, tables, and water bottles. The
schedule of this is daily in the morning, afternoon, and night. The sole responsibility for that chore
is one (1) person from the family member. It is rotational, each person is assigned to this part, only
it is one day at a time.

SEC. 9. Washing of the Clothes. – It is divided into washing, folding, and ironing. The
schedule of this is weekly on Sunday. The sole responsibility for that chore is one (1) person from
the family member. It is rotational, each person is assigned to this part, only it is one week at a
time.

SEC. 10. Feeding of the Dogs. – It is divided into food and water. The schedule of this is
daily in the morning, afternoon, and night. The sole responsibility for that chore is one (1) person
from the family member. It is rotational, each person is assigned to this part, only it is one day at
a time.
SEC. 11. Cleaning of the Dogs. – It is divided into dog 1 and dog 2. The schedule of this
is weekly on Sunday. The sole responsibility for that chore is one (1) person from the family
member. It is rotational, each person is assigned to this part, only it is one week at a time.

SEC. 12. Exemption. – Family members of Mariano house on vacation, any person visiting
and living temporarily shall be exempted from complying with the dissemination of household
chores as provided in this Act.

SEC. 13. Provision of Household Chores. – A set of guidelines which bears the objective
and example made by the family members of Mariano house and complies with the standards set
by Luningning N. Mariano shall be made available through a handbook which a cleaner may
review before doing the chore. Failure to comply with the requirements provided under this section
shall constitute a violation of this Act.

SEC. 14. Implementation. – The Mariano house, with its attached family members,
Luningning N. Mariano, Earl Sid Jan N. Mariano, Vince Sidfrey N. Mariano, and Luis Sidney N.
Mariano, are mandated by this Act to issue actions necessary to implement the provisions of this
Act.

SEC. 15. Penalties. – (a) Any family member caught not doing the household chores in
violation of this Act shall be punished with a fine of Five hundred pesos (Php500.00) for the first
offense; One thousand pesos (Php1,000.00) for the second offense; One thousand five hundred
pesos (Php1,500.00) for the third offense; and Two thousand pesos (Php2,000.00) plus
confiscation of the privilege in the house for the fourth and succeeding offenses.

(b) Luningning N. Mariano is accounted when she violates Section 13 of this Act and shall
be punished with a fine of not less than Two thousand pesos (Php2,000.00) but not more than Four
thousand pesos (Php4,000.00)

(c) Any family member who uses cheats and shortcuts to perform their household chores
or those who employ somebody shall be punished with a fine not less than One thousand pesos
(Php1,000.00); and One thousand five hundred pesos (Php1,500.00) for the second offense.

SEC. 16. House Forum and Training. – The Mariano house, with its joined family member,
led by Luningning N. Mariano, followed by Earl Sid Jan N. Mariano, Vince Sidfrey N. Mariano,
and Luis Sidney N. Mariano, shall undertake a forum and training for a period of one (1) week for
the attainment of the objectives of this Act.

SEC. 17. Saving Clause. – All laws, rules, regulations, other issuances or parts thereof
which are inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

SEC. 18. Separability Clause. – If any portion or provision of this Act is declared void and
unconstitutional, the remaining portions or provisions hereof shall not be affected by such
declaration.
SEC. 19. Repealing Clause. – All laws, decrees, orders, rules and regulations, other
issuances, or parts thereof inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed or
modified accordingly.

SEC. 20. Effectivity Clause. – This Act shall take effect one (1) week after its complete
forum and training.

This Act was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on October
31, 2020.
