Never Learning To Doubt Is A Lifestyle Of Trust
I f you are a believer, then believe. You’ll see that the
simple act of believing changes the energy inside of
you and around you, too. You see things differently. You
perceive even problems through the lens of a belief that is
assured that God is on your side—and that means you are
going to not just be OK, but you are going to be great!
My life today is better than I even imagined when
I first said, “God, come into my life.” Never learning to
doubt means my “salvation” isn’t just some lofty idea. I
didn’t choose Christianity because it had a good code
of ethics; I chose it because Jesus first chose me, and
He has the words of life. It’s not just a bunch of nice
sounding words; it’s the words of life. Never learning to
doubt means I’ve decided to believe that I’m on God’s
side and He’s on mine.
The blood of Jesus saved my soul, and His principles
saved my way of life. No matter what the enemy
throws at me, I never learned to doubt that with God,
I’m going to overcome. God’s plan for my life will
come to pass. Every day, I teach myself not to doubt
by reading God’s Word, confessing its truth over my
life, and fellowshipping daily with the Lord Jesus. This
relationship I’ve cultivated makes it hard not to follow
the Holy Spirit’s leading—I know He’s there, so I’m not
going to deliberately disobey Him.
Having His Word in me means it comes up in

my mind in tough times; so I have something to pull
on when circumstance come up. Living like this on a
daily basis—not a Sunday basis—makes it hard for
me not to have faith in God. I don’t go by what I see. I
go by what I believe. And my faith creates the changes
I want, sometimes quickly and sometimes in time,
but none of that matters because I know it’s going to
happen if I don’t get weary in well-doing.
Let the Lord Interrupt Your Plans—
You Never Know Who Is on the Other
Side of Your Obedience
I don’t just randomly make plans with my life—I
seek the Lord to see what He would have me to do.
Sometimes He tells me straightforwardly and guides
me by giving me a vision of tomorrow ahead of time.
Sometimes He doesn’t do that at all. Sometimes He just
guides me one step at a time.
I love living for the Lord because it’s an adventure.
What am I going to do today? I already have a schedule,
of course, but the Lord knows that if He interrupts it, I’ll
listen and go whatever way He is leading me that day. No
matter what I aim to do, I want to be guided by the Holy
Spirit—and if that means a detour in my plans, guess
what? I’m taking the detour!
 My mother was a woman who followed the Holy
Spirit’s leading, too. She’s in Heaven now, but when I
was young, I remember how the Holy Spirit prompted
her to get up, get in her truck, and go to the levee. She
wasn’t planning to go there before. She had other plans
for the day. But, as the Word says in Proverbs 16:9, a
man makes his plans, but it is the Lord who orders his
steps (man means mankind there, of course). My mother
was very sensitive to the Holy Spirit and listened to
that prompting, even though she had no idea what she’d
find. That day, the Lord led her to a girl standing on the
levee of the Mississippi River who was about to commit
suicide by jumping in and drowning herself.
The girl was pregnant, didn’t want to tell her
parents, and had come to the end of her rope. She was
distraught, crying hard, and just about to jump when my
mother showed up. Mama was able to talk to her, share
words of hope with her, and the girl listened—and she
invited Jesus into her life. My mother said afterward
that she wondered what would have happened if she’d
hesitated in listening to the Lord, or if she’d ignored
Him altogether?
Now, I was young, but my mother’s obedience to
the leading of the Holy Spirit affected me. Even when
I wasn’t serving the Lord, I knew that those who were
sensitive could be given messages that, if they listened,
led them to help others or avoid trouble for themselves.
I’d seen and heard too much to deny it, even if I didn’t
want to talk about it back then.
I met that girl years later at a tent revival meeting
that I preached. She’d grown into a woman with a
family of her own. She told me she credited my mama
for saving her life. The reality was that Mama was just
an obedient believer, but God was the One that saved
her life. My mother was just sensitive to His voice and
obedient enough to follow His lead.
You see, the wonderful thing about following the Holy
Spirit inside of you, even with a bunch of doubt clogging
up your spiritual ears, is that you can still be led to help
others in ways you may not even realize are important.
Maybe it won’t be as dramatic as saving a girl on a levee
about to commit suicide, or maybe it will be even more
dramatic than that. The Lord works in mysterious ways,
but only those who believe, listen, and obey can more
quickly be guided by His voice.
When you live a never-learned-to-doubt kind of
life, you may or may not realize who you have affected
for good. You may or may not realize what bad things
in life you have avoided by being sensitive, willing, and
obedient either. Until you get to Heaven, you may not
even see the fruit of your sensitivity-seeds, but that is
not what matters. All that matters is that you didn’t
doubt, that you listened, and that you walked by faith.
I Don’t Believe You Have to “See”
Everything You Dream or Desire
Before It Manifests
Sometimes the Lord will give you a vision or goal to
aim toward. Sometimes the Lord will surprise you
instead. Either way, if you’re living a never-learned-to-
doubt kind of life, you’re trusting that step-by-step, He
will be faithful to bring you where you need to be—and
if the devil fights you, God will give you the wisdom,
strength, and joy to overcome it and have a testimony
on the other end. As they say, you can’t have a testimony
until you have a test. The test isn’t the problem though.
The test is what you do when faced with that problem.
Will you have faith in God, will you apply His Word,
and will you confess it and act in wisdom upon it? That’s
the test!
Never learning to doubt is a lifestyle of trust. I trust
that God is guiding me every day. I put Him first, and I
know He’s going to put me first, too. He loves me, and I
love Him, and He’s helping me as I move through this
life. Some people believe you have to see every single
thing you dream or desire inside your mind’s eye before
it manifests in your life, but I don’t believe that’s always
the case.
I believe in having goals and dreams, seeing them,
and calling those things that be not as though they
were like Romans 4:17 says. I believe in having a plan. I
believe in manifesting whatever God puts on my heart
as a desire. But I also believe that sometimes God likes
to surprise me. I believe that God is always guiding me.
I trust in His goodness toward me. Because of that, I
know that He is going to bless me with even what I
can’t or don’t “see” in my mind’s eye of faith. I believe
He is propelling me to where I’m meant to be in life.
I believe if you put Him first, He’ll do the same for
you—and some of those “meant to be” people/places/
things in your life will be a surprise blessing you never
saw coming.
Trusting God and the things He’s said in the Word is
a foundational principle for being a believer. Making Him
first in our life keeps us in sync with Him so He can guide
us more easily. Making His Word a priority gives us the
foundation we need to be instant in season and out, and

spiritually ready for anything—which not only gives us
something to pull on during challenging times and keeps
us on the straight path of righteousness, but it also makes
us a quick encourager to others. When we trust Him
with our own path, He’ll draw others to us who need the
wisdom of the Word in their situations, too.
Believers Work in Two Dimensions—
We’re in This World, but We’re Not of
This World
You are a spirit being, you’re eternal, and this life is a
vapor—it goes as fast as hair spray flying out the can!
Pfffffft . . . vapor! The real you inside that body is hooked
up to God, and the closer you get to God and not
doubting Him, the more you’ll know how He guides you
in life. The more you’ll marvel at the steps He’s guided
you to take.
God’s Word is the only thing that will last in the
end, so don’t just read it—believe it. I often say, if you
don’t learn it here, you’ll have to learn it in Heaven.
We will keep learning even after earthly death because
we were created to learn and grow. Our bodies will one
day be incorruptible, but that doesn’t mean we will stop
exploring and growing in the knowledge of who God is
and what He has created. Science has touched the tip of
the iceberg when it comes to the things and places God
has made. I love science and hearing their theories,
but one day we won’t have to wonder which theory is
correct—because we will be in the direct presence of the
Maker of all things.
Something can’t come from nothing, but nothing
can come from Something. God is God, and He can
create or lay it to waste. I love when Jesus was teaching
in John 10:18 and started talking about His own life,
saying, “No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of
Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take
it again. This commandment have I received of My Father.”
Whoa! In other words, Jesus wanted everyone that day
to know that nobody had the power to take His life from
Him, and yet He allowed Himself to be crucified for us
because He knew it was better for us. That’s love. That’s
true power in action. God is merciful and gracious.
He’s not looking to hurt us; He’s looking to help us—
but we must help ourselves and believe Him. We take
the Word into our own mouth. We open our eyes to
the truth. We act on what we know and move forward
in faith, trusting that the Holy Spirit will lead us in all
things.

The heavens and the earth will pass away one day,
but God’s words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35).
What He says sticks! He is the Author and Finisher
of our faith. So, why would any believer want to doubt
God? Why would we doubt what is eternal and instead
put faith in what we can temporarily see? Do we think
our eyes will outlast God? Do we think anything will
outlast God?
I’ve read the back of the Book, and guess what? In
the end, we win—no matter how much God’s adversary
tries to convince mankind otherwise. He’s a twister
of truth. He’s a liar and a thief. Don’t let the faith in
your heart be something he robs, too. Doubt is a losing
mindset. Being a never-learned-to-doubt kind of
believer means not accepting a losing mindset in this
temporary life—it means adopting the eternal mindset
of winning.
There is no sickness, poverty, or misery in Heaven
because it’s not God’s will for Heaven. Jesus told us in
Matthew 6:10 to pray that God’s will be done here, “as
it is in Heaven.” He taught that faith is what makes us
whole, faith is what provides needs and desires, and faith
is what is required to ask anything in His name and see
it done (Matthew 9:22; Mark 11:22-24; John 14:13-14).
You see, when your heart is right, you don’t have to worry
about greed and envy because those things don’t fit in
a mind that is renewed to the Word and a heart that is
filled with the Holy Spirit. I wrote in more detail about
this in my last book, Your Everything Is His Anything, so
I won’t go into it further, but I hope you understand! I
make no excuses for the blessings of God on my life, and
I refuse to bow down to the status quo of doubt that has
become the religious world.
I’m in this world but not of this world, and you
are too. You see, we are products of two different
dimensions of life that we know about, and both are
running parallel to each other—the natural world we
see and the spirit world that we don’t see, unless God
pulls back the veil. From time to time, He does pull back
that veil! But, as Jesus said, it’s better for us if we believe
and don’t see.
Why is it better for us to have faith and not just
lean on our eyes? It’s better because the energy behind
faith works when we use it—again, it’s an energy force.
Seeing does not create change. Faith creates change. It
is by faith and not by sight that we move things in both
dimensions. This is how God made the two dimensions
to work together.
The angels see our faith and hear our words, too—
both holy angels and fallen angels. This means that
God’s angels work with us if we are using faith and
God’s Words. It also means that demons know when
we are using our faith and God’s Words, which is the
sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). What you believe
matters, not just what you say. When what you believe
and what you say match the Word, you are powerful in
two places—the natural world and the spirit world.
My Wait Time Isn’t My Worry Time
Because I Trust God All the Time
Anything that pertains to life and godliness is for you,
if you’ve got the desire to believe for it (2 Peter 1:3-4).
Whether it’s spiritual, physical, or financial, you can put
your faith and words toward it and see results. If you don’t
give up, if you don’t get weary, you can enforce the devil’s
defeat and draw God’s blessings into your life in whatever
area you desire. It’s called manifesting your desires, and
it’s not a secular mindset—it’s a faith principle that was
taught by Jesus Christ.
A lot of people worry about the “time” when they
are praying and believing for something specific. They
forget that only this natural world works according to the
sun. That’s man’s way of telling “time.” God doesn’t need
to “tell time” because He works outside of time, which
means that when we are praying for something, we’re
talking to the One Who created time—and the One
Who’s perspective we need to gain more than our own.
A lot of people give up when they don’t see
manifestation fast enough. I do the opposite. When I
feel a tinge of discontent about the time factor, I increase
my faith. When it looks like nothing is happening or the
devil is fighting to hinder my manifestation, I put the
force of faith into effect even more.
Every time it comes up in my mind, I speak the
Word, I call in my manifestation, I rebuke the devil, and
I speak by faith as if it has already happened. Hebrews
11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen”—so my evidence is what
I can’t yet see, and that’s how I know I’ve got it. It’s
a mind-bend, I know! It’s not a natural man’s way of
thinking—the Word is spirit and truth, and when I use it,
I know I’m using the words of the other dimension.
The spirit world will affect my natural world if I
don’t give up—if I put the pressure on my faith, I will
see my manifestation. I don’t bend to the pressure
of time. I remind myself that it’s just the sun and
nothing more, that I am eternal, and I’m working a
divine principle. This line of thinking and acting has
always been what moved me from “I believe it” into “I
manifested it.” I just refuse to be defeated by time, that
thing we decided to create because we looked up at the
sun! I’m looking at God, the One Who made the sun.
If He wants to stop the sun, He can. So, I don’t let the
wait time become the worry time. That’s fear, and I’m
not doing that.
You see, your wait time isn’t supposed to be your
worry time. Worry is a form of fear that God can help
you with if you trust Him. Trust cancels out worry.
I’ve decided that this is the day the Lord has made—I
might as well rejoice and be glad for today, because this is
the time I’ve got right now. I trust God with today just
like I trust Him with my future.
When you trust, it’s easy to have joy in the waiting
time. Your mind may want to get you to dive into
worrying about time, but take control over that and
focus on joy for today. Remind yourself that joy is always
available and time is not your enemy. Faith and patience
work together to receive the promises of God, according
to the Word (Hebrews 6:12). While we may not like
that, it’s a fact because it’s what God said—and you are
actually learning as you are exercising faith and patience.
Don’t mistake giving up for patience, because
patience isn’t giving up and doing nothing. Patience is a
fruit of the Spirit. So, if you need more, pray for more of
God’s Spirit to flow through you so that you can live with
joy—and not just when you manifest whatever you’re
believing for, but in the process of believing by faith, too.
I’ve decided that if I’m an eternal being, then whatever
I don’t get here, I’ll get there—but I know that nine times
out of ten, I’ll get what I’m believing for here, too, if I just
don’t give up. I’ve seen it happen too many times for me to
be convinced of anything else. I’ve convinced myself that
God can’t lie. So, I don’t have a “time problem”—I have
an “eternal solution.” I know that I can live with both a
present joy and a long view perspective.
I encourage you to trust God with today. Have
patience and faith for what you are believing for tomorrow.
Know that those two work in tandem. They are what I
always use to pull the manifestation of my prayers into
my life, and I know that as you trust God, you can use
them successfully, too. Remember that what you start in
the spirit shows up in the natural. If you don’t give up and
never learn to doubt, it has no other choice!

important book that Brother Jesse has written to date. As I

MOMENTS with Cathy
I always get so stirred up when I read the glorious moments that
are sent to our ministry by so many precious people who have been
impacted by the many outreaches of our ministry! The New Living
Translation of Psalm 72:19 declares what I feel in my heart as I share
them with you now: “Praise His glorious name forever! Let the whole
earth be filled with His glory. Amen and amen!”
Jesse and I are so thankful to our wonderful Covenant Partners that
faithfully give generously to help people all over the world hear the Good
News of Jesus. We know that the work God has called us to accomplish
will take a team effort and that, together, we can do so much more to
impact the lives of others. Together, we can produce television broadcasts,
magazines, products, and evangelistic meetings to rescue the lost, heal the
sick, and deliver those that are oppressed by the enemy.
Rejoice with me as you read about these people that have been
reached and these lives that have been changed through Jesse Duplantis
Ministries. Go ahead and take a glorious moment to give a great big
shout of thanksgiving to God because HE is worthy! Let’s all praise
His glorious name forever until the whole earth is filled with His glory!

Texas: My wife and I have been JDM Partners for many
years. In July of 2020, we attended our first Visionary
Conference at your church. While there, we felt compelled
to sow a seed the first day, a double portion on the
second day, and another seed on the third day. I am an
entrepreneur and own several small businesses. The second
seed was on behalf of one of my companies. In October
of 2020, I received word that a contract I had with my
primary business client was changing. Instead of billing
my regular annual fee for services, my client told me they
were increasing my annual fee starting this year! That seed
has resulted in a harvest of $100,000 extra income—every
year! Thank you so much for your wit, wisdom, and insight
into God’s Word. You both are truly a special blessing to
my family and me.
Alabama: After sowing in a famine, we reaped
supernaturally in the same year! We increased our giving
when it was not possible, because of our church and
ministry being shut down for a little while in 2020. But
God! We not only paid off the church and ministry
property, but on that same day we also purchased an
additional 10 acres adjacent to our land, in cash! It is
totally debt free!

California: Thank you for making available your Why
Isn’t My Giving Working? The Four Types of Giving
teaching; particularly the tithing part about opening
the windows of Heaven and rebuking the devourer. It
revealed a place in our lives where our tithe was lacking
(tithing from the net income of a rental property instead
of the gross income). We are starting a business, and
my wife is managing the finances. We met regularly
about the finances, and she kept seeing the money being
depleted. That changed after we fixed our tithing. All
of a sudden, we were spending less. Then, we started
breaking even. Now, we are so busy that we need to work
with more people. Your Four Types of Giving teaching
has kept us on the right track. Our family purposely
gave firstfruits for the first time. We committed to our
firstfruits being the next commission check. It just so
turns out, that commission check was the largest one we
would ever receive. Within just two days of only making
the COMMITMENT to the firstfruits, another check
was on the way. It is was even larger than the firstfruits
check, and a bonus was given to us by a customer
(unheard of ). God is faithful. He deals bountifully with
us. Thank You, Lord!
Louisiana: I’m not proud to say this, but for a bit, I was
one of the biggest doubters of the preaching from Jesse. I
was brought to Covenant Church and I enjoyed the funny
stories from Jesse, but I still didn’t feel he was being for real.
Then one Sunday, I will always remember, I was sitting on
the left side of the church about three or four rows from the
front, and I felt like a slap on the back of my head. I even
looked back to see if anyone was there, and I heard what
I know now was the Holy Spirit speak straight to me and
said, “WAKE UP! Jesse isn’t trying to brag or get money
for himself; he is trying to show and allow you the same
gift and blessings from our Father.” It took me a minute to
digest all that came over me, but the blessings are different
for everyone. Some, it may be a single wide trailer. Others,
a 30,000 square foot house, and for some it may even be
a tent in Alaska. The Holy Ghost reminded me about my
grandma’s dream house, which was only 900 square feet.
I thank God for the teachings from Jesse, and also for my
wife—she was the one that got me to go and listen to Jesse.
I am now a tither and a sower. We have put everything into
God’s hands and from doing this, we have been blessed
so much that our cup is truly running over. We just went
from a 900 square foot house to a 2,500 square foot house
in a safe neighborhood, and we were even able to move my
aging parents into our home so we can care for them. Just
when you think the blessings are done, we were blessed with
a bonus out of the blue that helped us over a hump, and
then received a raise that made it where the added cost of a
bigger home was not a problem. God is truly our source and
our rock. Thank you for opening up my eyes. For once I was
blind, but now I see. I so understand that.
South Carolina: We are thanking and praising our Lord
and Savior for all that He has done and all that He is
doing in our lives daily. We enjoy and receive so much
from you and Cathy and your blessed ministry every week.
Thank you both for being there.
Australia: Thanking you for your ministry to us. It is
important to us as the lockdowns in Victoria are upon us
again. It is good to have something to read and keep us
going in our faith. Thank you for your magazines.
South Carolina: Jesse encouraged us to believe for the
double. $400 posted to my bank account yesterday and
today. That’s double! Unlimited hallelujahs to God!
Unlimited appreciation for Jesse and Cathy teaching us
the Word! I am believing for unlimited money. Since
becoming an E-Member in July of 2020, God has blessed
me to pay off four short-term loans. One of the loan
companies offered me a settlement payment plan, which
decreased the amount I had to pay back by 50%. Look at
Almighty God! I worship and thank Him!
New York: Hello, JDM! I wanted to share some
exciting news. Last year, through numerous messages,
you encouraged the body of Christ to believe for the
unbelievable. I got into agreement and did just that. I began
to speak supernatural increase. I received a word from the
Lord on August 4, 2020 that I would earn more money this
year than I’ve ever earned. It seemed impossible, especially
since I was unemployed due to the pandemic, but I chose
to stand on His word anyway. I also began to declare the
blessings of the Lord would cause opportunities to find
me. As the year got closer to the end, I began to wonder
if I missed it. However, the week before Thanksgiving, I
received a message from a former work colleague about a
position. Upon my first interview, the manager didn’t think
I was experienced enough, but he passed my information
on to another person to interview me. It just so happened
that this person worked for the same company I had worked
for, and we knew a person in common who had sought me
out at the time for a position with her property. Long story
short, the job that the manager thought I wasn’t qualified
for, he offered to me. The pay was a $15,000 increase from
what I was making, which, at the time, was more than I had
made. Now, just as the Lord had said, I was earning more
than I ever had, and He did it before the end of 2020. So,
He fulfilled His word within the time limit He stated. I give
to your ministry not to get but because I know it’s good soil,
and the increase on your life has manifested in mine.
Canada: I have just become a Partner. You said the Lord
said to you, “Make a decision and I will back you.” So, I
made that decision. I’m a First Nations woman who has
given her life to the Lord, but in all my days, I have never
heard a message of yours before (specifically tithing). I
have grown up in church all my life and discovered I’ve
never done the full tithe and never heard of any of your
other teachings you provide. I asked the Lord why? He
replied, “The enemy did not want you to know.” I prayed
Jeremiah 33:3 and it has now become a daily prayer, and
when I did, your message on tithing—Boom!—was right
there for me to hear, among more information I never
thought possible. I call God “Daddy” because He’s been
the only Father to me who has ever lived up to that and
who has ever earned that right with me. I do also have
a relationship with my adopted father, which God has
restored, and I honor him. I am, have been, and will
continue to be blessed by learning from your sermons.
Even though I went to Bible college when I was younger,
my room has now become my Bible college to learn
deeper truths. I have been applying the principles I’ve been
learning, and I want to thank you and Cathy for coming
into to my life this way. Thank you! And thank You, Jesus!

Secret
Place
J E S S E D U P L A N T I S
T he Lord gave me an amazing statement as I was
studying the Book of Matthew recently. I had
just read Matthew 6:5-6 where Jesus says,
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as
the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing
in the synagogues and in the corners of the
streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say
unto you, They have their reward.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy
closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray
to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father
which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
After I read this, a statement came to me as
clear as day: Being undisturbed is helpful for
concentration of thought. You see, all of us should
have a secret place with the Lord that is shut
away from all distraction—a place where we are
undisturbed; where we can concentrate and hear
ourselves think, and where we can hear the Spirit of
God speak. So, let me ask you, do you have a prayer
closet where you meet with God, One on one? I don’t

mean in the literal sense of the word. It doesn’t have
to be a closet; it can be any place where you go to be
alone with the Lord.
Jesus went to the secret place often. I love how He
would go up to the top of a mountain or under a tree
to spend time with the Father. Sometimes He would
stay there praying through the night. Even when
He was exhausted from preaching and healing the
multitudes all day long, He would separate Himself
from the disciples and find a place to meet with God
alone. How do you think Jesus knew so much about
the Father? Because He would go to the secret place!
Your secret place, or prayer closet, is meant to
close off your spirit from all distractions so you can
feel alone with God. It’s more than just a place for
mental seclusion or for just getting away from the
busyness of life. It’s your spirit’s place for communion
with the Lord. When you think about it, it’s a lot
like fasting. When you go to the secret place, you are
shutting down the natural generator (your physical
self ) and turning on the spiritual generator (your
spirit). Church, prayer, and fasting are all wonderful
and important for our spiritual growth as believers,
but having a “secret place” is going to be where you
develop extreme intimacy and fellowship with your
Heavenly Father. Do you even realize how much God
wants to just hang out with you? A lot, and He wants
your undivided attention when you do!
I love my conversations with God. Sometimes I
go to my secret place just to say, “Hi, Jesus!” That may
sound odd, but when you spend time fellowshipping
with the Lord often enough, it’s not. That’s what
the secret place is all about! I go there to fill myself
up with God’s presence, and that brings me a sense
of perspective that helps me see my life in full
proportion. It keeps me stable. I find that when I’m
full of the Holy Ghost, nothing else can get in me. In
other words, the cares of the world can’t absorb me.
Think about it. So many people become so absorbed
with a problem that they cannot see the answer.
Why? They haven’t been in the secret place!
There are so many blessings that come when you
go to that secret place with God. It’s during those
encounters that He has an opportunity to become
real to you. If you will listen patiently and honestly,
His still, small voice will grab your attention. And,
during those quiet times, the convictions of your faith
will strengthen their hold on you. That is how I keep
my faith strong. I go to the quiet place. I have quiet
times with the Lord in the secret place and every
time I do, my faith is strengthened. Not only that,
but like I said, going to the secret place is always an
opportunity to really get to know God in an intimate,
personal way. The Father has so much that He wants
to reveal to you. After all, you are His child!
Did you know that God’s capacity to hurt and His
capacity to love are far greater than yours? I learned
that a long time ago when I went to fellowship with
Him. I have a chapel in my home where I love to
spend time with the Lord. One day, I went there
to meet with Him, and I could feel something was
wrong. For lack of a better term, He wasn’t acting
right—something felt off. So, I asked Him about
it. He said that one of His children had disobeyed
Him in some way and He was hurt. So, I cancelled
all of my appointments and stayed there praying
and worshipping the Lord for a while. Then, I felt a
release in my heart and God said, “Thank you, Jesse.
You refreshed me.” It was wonderful! God valued
that time with me as much as I valued that time with
Him. And I want you to know that He desires to
have intimate time with you, too! Jesus would not
have told you and I to “enter into thy closet” and pray to
the Father “in secret” if He didn’t know how precious
our fellowship with Him would be for you, me, and
Him!
When you go to your secret place with God,
I want you to be mindful not to brood over past
misfortunes or disappointments. That will only darken
your surroundings and drown out what God wants to
reveal to you. Remember the statement that God gave
me: Being undisturbed is helpful for concentration of
thought. So, let all of that junk go and open yourself
up to the Lord with a thankful heart. Be still in His
presence and know that in quietness, you will hear
from God!
The most important thing you can do is spend
time alone with God. His greatest desire is to
fellowship with you and flood you with His all-
powerful love and presence. When you develop a
consistent, personal connection with Him like this, a
wonderful awareness will come over you. You become
aware of the value of things you may have overlooked
in your life. You find out what you should be grateful
for as God’s message to you is shaped in your mind,
will, and emotions. Then, you’re able to implement all
the amazing things He has spoken to you.
There is no time better than now to pursue a
greater relationship with your Creator. Find your
special place, your sanctuary, where you can commune
with God. Make the effort to have that sacred time
in quiet communication with Him. When you draw
near to Him, you will find His rest, His peace, and
His great love for you. Remember, you serve a God of
great feeling. So go on, enter into your “secret place”
with God and hear what He has to say. He loves
you and wants you to experience His life-changing
presence, today and every day!

About Your
Future!
C A T H Y
N o matter how dark your past has been, Jesus came
to give you a bright future—believe it! Our God
is a good God who desires to do good things in your
life. Miracle manifestations of joy, peace, love, health,
prosperity, and so much more are yours for the taking
when you agree with God’s Word and stay excited about
His promises.
I have a sign in my office that says, “You’ve got ten
seconds to get excited or get out of my office.” I love looking
at it because it’s really true. I believe we all need to stay
excited about the great future that God has planned for each
of us. In fact, until we get stirred up and excited about where
God wants to bring us, we’re not going anywhere.
Many years ago, my sister Christine and her
husband went to Disney World with their two young
grandchildren. For months before the trip, they talked
about the rides, the characters, and the great fun they
would all have on vacation together. That long anticipated
moment finally arrived and the grandchildren could
hardly contain their excitement as they entered Disney
World. The oldest grandchild turned to my brother-in-
law and squealed, “Can you believe it Paw-Paw?”
That phrase has become one that Jesse and I have
begun to use a lot. It’s what we often say when we are
excited about God’s goodness, favor, or blessing in
our lives. It just seems to fit. It reminds us about how
important it is to stay childlike in our appreciation for all
that God has done and will do.
Being passionate about what God calls you to do, no
matter what that may be, is the key to seeing your dreams
fulfilled. Make a quality decision right now to enjoy
every day of your life. It’s your life; nobody else’s. It’s not
enough for God to be excited about your good life; you
need to be excited about your life.

Instead of being discouraged, you can stir yourself
up by declaring God’s Word. Take charge of your life
by learning to rejoice before you see your manifestation.
Instead of complaining about day-to-day issues, discover
the power of getting excited about God’s promises.
Make a Joyful Noise
When you are excited about something you’ve
planned to do after work, it’s normal to smile, sing, hum,
or whistle throughout the day as you do your job. You
may even have a bounce in your step as you walk out the
door. I think that most people would agree that making a
joyful noise is a really normal thing for an excited person
to do.
Psalm 100:1 says, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord,
all ye lands.” Now, this is not a request; it is a command to
the entire world. In this verse, God gave us insight into
a faith principle that is actually the first step in receiving
His promises. Regardless of how we feel in the natural, a
joyful noise has the power to supernaturally transport us
out of defeat and into victory.
Psalm 98:1 and 4 says, “O sing unto the Lord a new
song; for He hath done marvellous things: His right hand,
and His holy arm, hath gotten Him the victory…Make a
joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise,
and rejoice, and sing praise.”
In the Strong’s Greek and Hebrew Dictionary of the
Bible, the phrase “Make a joyful noise” is defined as: “to
split the ears with sound, shout for alarm or joy, blow an
alarm.” The force of your joyful praise is more powerful
than any wall the devil can erect against you. Just as
the children of Israel’s shout demolished the wall that
surrounded the ancient city of Jericho, your faith-filled
voice has supernatural power to remove any obstacle the
devil may place in your path.
When you truly know that God has a great future for
you, it’s all you want to talk about. You are compelled to
declare the wonderful things God’s Word says will come
to pass in your life. The opposite is also true. If you don’t
know what God has promised, you will be quiet and timid
about your future. This is precisely why the enemy wants to
keep Christians ignorant about God’s Word. He wants to
silence us and thereby neutralize us against his attacks.
Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge….” That word destroyed is defined in the Strong’s
Greek and Hebrew Dictionary of the Bible as: “to be dumb
or silent.” You see, if we don’t know what the Word of
God says concerning our prosperity, healing, or salvation,
we will keep silent. When we don’t know what belongs
to us, we never speak faith-filled words that enable us to
overcome life’s obstacles.
Mark 11:22-23 says, “And Jesus answering saith unto
them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That
whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed,
and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart,
but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to
pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
Notice how many times the words say and saith
are used in this verse. It is clear that Jesus wanted us to
understand that faith operates by saying or speaking. This
principle is made very clear again in Luke 17:6: “And the
Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might
say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and
be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.”
Saying God’s Word is the first step to getting excited
about your increase! Faith-filled words have the power to
remove a mountain of debt. You can speak life into empty,
lifeless bank accounts and say, “I command my financial
harvest to come in! I have given and Jesus promised
in Luke 6:38 that I will have a pressed down, shaken
together, and running over harvest.”
Believing God’s Word in your heart and acting on it
by saying with your own mouth will always affect your
future. In fact, it will make the difference between life or
death and blessing or cursing operating in your life.
Proverbs 18:21 warns us that, “Death and life are in the
power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit
thereof.” In Deuteronomy 30:19, God said, “I call heaven
and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before
you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life,
that both thou and thy seed may live.”
The choice is really up to you. If you want life and
blessing, you need to speak up! Just do it, regardless of how
you feel. Make your flesh do something it doesn’t want to
do. Don’t think about how bad things look. Do it because
God’s Word is true. Do it because you know it is the secret
to your breakthrough manifestation.
Psalm 31:24 says, “Be of good courage, and He shall
strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” Making a
joyful noise unto the Lord changes your whole attitude. It
actually charges the atmosphere in your home with belief,
faith, and courage. It opens your eyes to see the good
things that He’s already done. He is a good God and He
wants to do good things for His good kids.
Cheer Up & Be Glad
Before going to the cross, Jesus said to His disciples, “I
have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect]
peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and
trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take
courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome
the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have
conquered it for you.]” ( John 16:33 AMPC).
Instead of giving up, you can cheer up! You can have
perfect peace and confidence in every situation in this
life. Jesus has already conquered every trial, distress, and
frustration this world can dish out. Now that is something
to get excited about!
Once you conquer your own flesh and begin to cheer
up, it will change your outlook. Instead of looking at past
failures, you will be focused on future victories that are
promised in God’s Word. Psalm 100:2 says, “Serve the
Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.”
To be glad means “to brighten up, get a little brighter,
cheer up, be merry, cause or make to rejoice.” Making a
decision to serve the Lord with gladness will not only
affect your attitude, but it will also have an impact on
those that you come into contact with each day.
One of my favorite old movies, Pollyanna, really
illustrates this truth. The main character, a little girl named
Pollyanna, whose missionary parents had died, had to go and
live with her Aunt Polly, the richest and the meanest old lady
in town. She ruled over everyone and made them miserable.
In contrast, Pollyanna was always cheerful, kind, and
helpful to everyone. She never complained and always
talked about things that made her glad. While her father
was alive, he taught Pollyanna to always play “The Glad
Game.” Every day they would think of something to be
glad about no matter how difficult things were on the
mission field where they lived.
Pollyanna’s smiling, cheery attitude really affected the
whole town, which was a sad town until she came on the
scene. I won’t go into the whole movie, but the household
servants had begun to notice how Pollyanna always found
something to be glad about each day. It actually irritated a
few of them. They began to wonder what Pollyanna would
say she was glad about on Sunday.
You see, Sundays were not a good day in that little
town because the pastor always preached a fire and
brimstone message. Everybody had a sour look on their
face and an upset stomach after church from all that
screaming, and it always spoiled their lunch. So, after

that first Sunday service, they gathered around Pollyanna,
waiting for her “glad” comment. She had to think awhile,
but finally said, “Well, “I’m glad it’s not Sunday every day.”
If more of us acted like little Pollyanna, it would be
easier to get excited about the future. I have a pillow in my
home that says, “Surround yourself only with people that
will lift you to a higher level.” That is really true. Finding
success in life is much easier when you don’t have bad
influences pulling you off track. Don’t allow a bunch of
sourpusses to sabotage your future. God has an awesome
plan for your life that is greater than you can ask or think.
Regardless of how foolish the devil makes you feel,
I challenge you to look at yourself in the mirror and tell
your flesh, “Get excited about your future!” Talk to yourself.
After all, you need to talk to an intelligent person!
God Loves Your Singing
Have you ever caught yourself singing or humming
when you are excited about something? At that moment,
your heart is so filled with gladness that singing just spills

out of that huge smile on your face. That is a picture of the
way that the Lord desires for us to serve Him. God loves
the sound of glad singing from every single one of His
children. Yes, even you!
Now, if your voice is anything like mine, you may
wonder if God really meant that for all of us. I love to sing
and do it often, but only when I am in a huge crowd or
totally alone. It’s just a courtesy that I do for my fellow man.
I’ll never forget the first time Jesse heard me sing.
We had just begun dating and neither of us knew the
Lord at the time. Jesse was a nightclub entertainer and he
wanted to show me where he worked, so that night after
dinner we stopped by the club where he performed five
nights a week. When the customers saw Jesse come in,
they convinced him to come to the piano and sing at least
one song for them. Looking back, I really think that Jesse
expected that to happen and had planned that event to
impress me. It worked.
Jesse agreed to their request to perform just one song
and motioned for me to sit next to him on the piano
bench. Now, up until that moment, I never realized how
badly I sang. I’m talking hurt-your-ears bad. I couldn’t
carry a tune, but like I said, I did not know it at that time.

The song Jesse began to sing that night was one of my
favorite love songs. I knew all of the lyrics and always sang
along when it came on the radio. So, without hesitation, I
began to sing along with Jesse. I was really belting it out,
singing at the top of my lungs, when I noticed a strange,
confused look on Jesse’s face. He whispered as kindly as he
could, “Cathy, don’t sing, don’t sing.” Years later, he told me
what he really thought at the time, which was, “How could
something look so good sound so bad?”
I think that it’s normal to sing when you’re glad about
something. It thrills my heart when I see little children
humming and singing as they play. Well, I believe that God
feels the same way about us. When we serve Him with
gladness and come before His presence with singing, it blesses
Him and paves the way for His power to flow in our lives.
When we are excited about the future that God has
promised, it releases a spirit of joy that brings strength to
overcome seemingly impossible situations. Even if the
enemy forms a weapon against us, God’s Word declares that
it cannot prosper (Isaiah 54:17). This is our heritage and
covenant promise as born again, righteous children of God.
No matter how difficult the problem, we can be of good cheer
because Jesus has already overcome the world ( John 16:33).
You can make a choice to rejoice! Regardless of how
messed up your past has been, begin to thank God for all
of His great benefits (Psalm 103:1-5). Instead of poisoning
the atmosphere by whining about where you are, you can
rejoice about where God wants to bring you.
Know Who You Are
This month, Jesse and I will celebrate 51 years of
marriage and, as close as we are, Jesse sometimes shakes
his head in wonder at things that I do. Just when he thinks
that he has me all figured out, I amaze him by something
that I say. That is because no one really knows me except
God, because I was made by Him.
As close as you may be to your family or friends, they
don’t know you the way that God does. In fact, you don’t
even know yourself the way God knows you! Psalm 100:3
says, “Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath
made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the
sheep of His pasture.”
God did not create you and then abandon you in this
world. According to 2 Peter 1:3-4, God has given you
exceeding great and precious promises! He made you a
partaker of His divine nature and gave you all things that
pertain to life and godliness. Everything that you need to
live an abundant, overcoming life has already been given to
you by God. In fact, He knows what you need even before
you ask (Matthew 6:8).
Think about a promise that He has given you. Think
about getting out of debt. Think about being healed and
whole. Think about having the home that you need or the
car that you need, your children in the school that they
need to go to, or maybe a relationship being restored.
Instead of hopelessness ruling over your heart, God can
show you verses in His Word that’ll impart faith to bring
your promise to pass.
If you are praying for a promotion, you need to search
for wisdom in God’s Word to help you to be a better
person on the job. If you have a business that God has put
on your heart, He can give you wisdom about how to get
it started. God wants to give you insight, knowledge, and
witty inventions so that you can have a great future.
A friend once told me a story about a single mother
that tried to work, but the only job she could get did not
pay enough to cover the high cost of childcare. Instead of
getting resentful and depressed about her situation, she cried
out to God for help. One day, while washing her dishes, she
saw a vision of a baby bottle with a hole in the center of it.
When she told her pastor what she saw, he told her that
God may have given her a witty invention (Proverbs 8:12).
That pastor put her in touch with some people to help her
patent her idea, and she became a millionaire.
Great opportunities are waiting for you! God has placed
amazing qualities within you that can enable you to rise
to the top (Deuteronomy 8:18). He knows that you can
do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13). Instead
of arguing with God, agree with Him! You can rise above
circumstances to a new life filled with joy and victory.
Be Thankful to God
Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter into His gates with
thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; be thankful
unto Him, and bless His name.” In this verse, God makes it
extremely clear how we are to act in His presence. When
we come to God, we should have our praise on and an
attitude of thanksgiving. Now that doesn’t mean that we
need to dance, shout, or sing up a storm every time we
approach God. Praise is often very quiet, and at times we
even sense a holy hush in His presence.
Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dictionary says, “The praise of
man toward God is the means by which we express our joy
to the Lord. We are to praise God both for who He is and
for what He does (Psalm 150:2). Praising God for who He is
is called adoration; praising Him for what He does is known
as thanksgiving. Praise of God may be in song or prayer,
individually or collectively, spontaneous or prearranged,
originating from the emotions or from the will.”
Being thankful is not a feeling; it is a decision. You
have a choice to be grateful for all that God has done and
promises to you in His Word. A bright future is available
to everyone that will rise up and take hold of it. Even if
circumstances have kept you down, you can move out of
your comfort zone and into the faith zone.
Isaiah 60:1 AMPC says, “Arise [from the depression and
prostration in which circumstances have kept you —rise to a new
life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light
has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”
Making a decision to rise up to this new life that we
have in God is the first step toward the fulfillment of
your dream. You can get rid of depression today if you are
determined to rise and shine for God. Regardless of what
you feel or how circumstances look, you are called by God
to arise from depression and prostration.
Romans 13:11-12 says, “And that, knowing the time,
that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is
our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far
spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of
darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.”
For some people, just getting out of bed is a faith
walk. The old saying is really true, “If you snooze, you
lose.” If you are tired of losing, it’s high time to wake up,
cast off the works of darkness, and move forward with
the vision that God has given you. Be determined to not
let your future get away from you. Instead of just being
comfortable, lying flat on your back, God commands you
to arise and shine with His glory. Get excited about the
future that you have in God. Get radiant!
God Is Good
If the devil’s robbed you of your past, why give him
your future. If your way has not been working, why keep
doing it the same way? Instead, why not make a change?
Jesus is standing ready to cleanse you from all sin and give
you a glorious future that can begin today.
Psalm 100:5 says, “For the Lord is good; His mercy is
everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.” I don’t
think any of us truly understands how good God is to us
all. When the world rejected His goodness, His everlasting
mercy reached out to us. He sent His Son so that we can
all rise to a new life that is free of pain and filled with
every spiritual blessing.
The life that Jesus offers is good and full of hope
for the future. Jeremiah 29:11 NASB1995 says, “‘For I
know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans
for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a
hope.’” Take hold of this promise from God’s Word today
and allow it to transform your thinking. Belief in God’s
Word will make a difference in the way that you react to
the difficult situations you encounter in life. Instead of
allowing disappointments to dominate your thoughts, you
can spend quality time in the Word and listen to messages
that will help you succeed ( Joshua 1:8). Replace wrong
thinking with God’s thoughts and it will result in positive
change in every area of your life.
Determine today that you have quite a lot to be
excited about. Instead of listening to depressing thoughts
from the devil, you can open your Bible and stir yourself
up with God’s great promises for your future. Read them
out loud to yourself so that your ears can hear what your
mouth is saying (Romans 10:10,17). Soon, those powerful
promises from the anointed Word of God will fill you with
hope and propel you forward in faith toward the great
future that God has for you. Get excited!

 Receive the Great Future
Jesus Has for You!
Jesus loves you, and He wants to lift you out of the problems of life and give you a
brand-new, exciting future filled with hope, peace, joy, and love. For you to experience this
new life, all you have to do is accept God’s plan of salvation through Him. Romans 10:9-10
says that if you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, you
will be saved. If you’re ready, pray this prayer with me now:

Jesus, come into my life. Forgive me of all my sins. I ask You to cleanse my
heart and make me a new person in You right now. I believe that You are the Son
of God and that You died on the cross for me.
Jesus, I want to thank You for loving me enough to die for me. I accept all that
Your shed blood bought for me on the cross, and I receive You as my Savior and
Lord. In Your name I pray, Amen.
