Running head: REVISED PHILOSOPHY 2

Revised Philosophy

My philosophy on educational leadership surrounds the well-being and success of all

students and staff by leading by example according to the school’s vision and mission. It is

important for me to be an ideal role model by treating everyone with respect and fairness and

demonstrate how to perform different duties responsibly for my staff to learn from. With the

school’s vision and mission in mind, I want to inspire and persuade my staff into trying different

teaching methods to reach our students’ different learning styles through innovative and critical

thinking, while maintaining the support of parents and the entire school community. Another

way to ensure student success is by empowering my staff on taking school leadership positions

and continuing to build on their professional capacity with professional development on current

educational trends and needs. As an educational leader, I want to create an innovative, diverse,

and supportive educational environment with unlimited opportunities for the entire school

community by collaborating with one another to reach maximum successful outcomes. To

promote collaboration, I want to be visible across the school’s systems by being present during

meetings, clubs, events, and in the classrooms. I will have an open-door policy where students,

staff, and families feel welcomed to come talk to me about their concerns and needs. My

philosophy also involves being an advocate for my staff, students, and their families by

providing a safe environment, being their voice, and celebrating their successes. I want to be a

servant leader who coaches staff members when needing to improve in certain areas. “Schools

and school districts need effective leaders like never before to take on the challenges and

opportunities facing education today and, in the future,” (NPBEA, 2015). I want to be an

effective leader that serves and protects the education of their students especially during difficult

times such as the transition from the state standards to the Common Core Standards or similar

situations to Covid-19. Furthermore, I would like for the entire school community to feel happy,

safe, and proud of the school they chose to teach or to have their children study at. While there

are different ways for me to provide these values, I would make sure I’m providing these by

giving my school community my guidance, my time, my support, and my mentorship.
