INTENTION AND PLAN

Intention is something that triggers an action , whether a plan is an action that will be done in the
future. In English, there are expressions and grammar that has relationship with the intention and
plan.
Future tense is related state the two kinds of expressions.
Here are the expressions for asking and stating intention and plan.
1. Asking intention and plan
a. What are you going to do?
b. Any plan to …?
c. Are you thinking of ….. (v-ing)
d. Do you have any intention of …. (v-ing)
e. Is it your intention to ….. (v1)

2. Stating intention and plan

a. I’m going to ……(v1)
b. I plan to …. (v1)
c. I’ll (will) …… (v1)
d. I’m thinking of …. (v-ing)
e. I reckon I will ……(v1)
f. I have every intention of …… (v-ing)
g. I fully intend to …
h. It is my intention to ……
Grammar used to express intention and plan.
In expressing intention and plan, we usually use “to be (is, am, are) + going to + V1 / will + V1”.
We also use “would like to + V1”.
Pay attention to the following examples.
1. would like to + V1
a. (+) She would like to go to Jakarta next month.
b. (-) She would not like go to Jakarta next month.
c. (?) Would she like to go to Jakarta next month.
d. (?) Where would she like to go next month?
2. will + V1
a. (+) She will go to Jakarta next month.
b. (-) She will not go to Jakarta next month.
 c. (?)Will she go to Jakarta next month.
d. (?) Where will she to go next month

3. to be + going to + V1
a. (+) She is going to go to Jakarta next month.
b. (-) She is not going to go to Jakarta next month.
c. (?) Is she going to go to Jakarta next month.
d. (?) Where is she going to go next month?

Then make dialogs based on the situation given (number 2-5). Choose only one situation. Make a
