Citra Install Guide

This document will explain the fastest method to install Eternal X or Wilting Y, using Citra’s
layeredFS feature. You won’t need any extra tools, and there’s no need to extract or build any cia
files, so this won’t take long.
Prerequisites:
You’ll need a clean* copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y.
Follow the steps below to install the mod:

Part One: Choose a Version

Legal (no Pokémon or move changes)
1. Open the “luma” folder in Game Files/Legal Version in the EX or WY download pack
and navigate to the title ID folder. This folder will be named “0004000000055D00” or
“0004000000055E00” depending on your game version. Inside this folder you’ll see a
folder named “romfs” and a file named “code.ips”. Leave this window open for later.
2. Go to Part Two.
Rebalanced (Pokémon and move changes, see documents for details)
1. Open the “luma” folder in Game Files/Rebalanced Version in the EX or WY download
pack and navigate to the title ID folder. This folder will be named “0004000000055D00”
or “0004000000055E00” depending on your game version. Inside this folder you’ll see a
folder named “romfs” and a file named “code.ips”. Leave this window open for later.
2. Go to Part Two.
Insanity (further increased difficulty, Pokémon and move changes optional)
1. Open the “luma” folder in Game Files/Insanity - Legal OR Game Files/Insanity -
Rebalanced in the EX or WY download pack and navigate to the title ID folder. This
folder will be named “0004000000055D00” or “0004000000055E00” depending on your
game version. Inside this folder you’ll see a folder named “romfs” and a file named
“code.ips”. Leave this window open for later.
2. Go to Part Two.
Part Two: Install the Mod
1. Open Citra, right-click on Pokémon X or Pokémon Y, and select “Open Mods Location”.

2. Copy the “romfs” folder and “code.ips” file from the hack’s download pack to the mods
location folder you just opened.
3. Make sure you don’t have the title update for Pokémon X/Y: in Citra, right-click on
Pokémon X or Pokémon Y, and select “Open Update Data Location”. If there’s anything
in this folder, delete it. The update must be uninstalled for the hack to work.
4. That’s it! Launch your game and you should see the Eternal X or Wilting Y title screen.
5. NOTE: The title screen has only been edited for the English language setting. If you
want to play in another language but aren’t sure if the hack is set up properly, start the
game in English first to check for the title screen changes. If they’re there, chances are
the hack is working. You can then reset the game and choose your desired language.
*If you’re updating from a cia version of the hack, that can be used instead, but a clean copy is
preferable if you have one.

Uninstallation
To uninstall the hack, simply open up the “mods location” again and delete everything in that
folder.

OPTIONAL: Viola Nerf (makes initial Viola battle easier)

After installing either the Legal or Rebalanced version, copy the “a” folder from the “Viola
Nerf” folder in the download to luma/titles/[TITLE ID*]/romfs in the mods location folder from
earlier in the guide. Merge folders and overwrite files when prompted.
*“TITLE ID” will be 0004000000055D00 for Pokémon X or 0004000000055E00 for Pokémon
Y.

!!! IMPORTANT: !!!

I haven’t been able to get the hack to play nice with the title update, so the Lumiose save
glitch is still present in the games. This means you shouldn’t save in the areas shown here:

If you accidentally save in this area and it breaks your save, simply install the title update, boot
up your game and save somewhere else. Then, uninstall the update and continue playing.
If you have any questions or want to suggest changes to either this guide or EXWY (criticism is
welcome!), please leave a post in EXWY's Pokecommunity thread or PM me.
Thanks for playing!
