Nancy: Hey, Sarah. I haven’t seen you in a while. How have you been?
Sarah: I’ve been doing great! Thanks for asking. How about yourself?
Nancy: I’m also doing well. I’m glad to hear that you are, too. What
brings you to the park today?
Sarah: Is that so? That’s wonderful! I need to walk more myself. I’m
out of shape.
Nancy: Yes, walking has been good for me. I’ve already lost 12 pounds.
You should join us sometime.
Sarah: I’d love to! I’m usually free in the evenings, so it will work out
well. Thanks for the invitation.

Why or why not?
Kalyn: Hey, Mary! I’m glad I caught you. I wanted to ask you if
you have any plans for today. If not, would you like to come with
me to the new park they just opened up?
Mary: Hi, Kalyn! It’s funny that you wanted to talk with me. I was
just thinking about giving you a call to ask you if you wanted to
do something later on today. I’d love to go with you to the park.
Mary: Yes, four o’clock is fine with me. I just need to go home,
take a quick shower, and make the sandwiches. It’s 2:30 now, so
I think I’ll have plenty of time. See you in a little bit!

There are many things that you can do in Central Park. The park has
artificial lakes and ponds, bridle paths, two ice-skating rinks (one of
which is a swimming pool in July and August), the Central Park Zoo,
the Central Park Conservatory Garden, a wildlife sanctuary, a large
area of natural woods, a 106-acre billion-gallon reservoir with an
encircling running track, and an outdoor amphitheater. In addition,
there are numerous major and minor grassy areas, some of which
are used for informal or team sports, some are set aside as quiet
areas, and there are a number of enclosed playgrounds for children.
• Many people work very hard to maintain and preserve public parks.
However, not everyone cares about them. What are some ways that
people destroy public parks and break park rules? What do you think
should be done to these people?
